Maybe get a really really short hair cut that is shaped and flattering

@Seagoon_ So recently, I've been thinking about possibly getting a buzzcut.
I don't think I'd be brave enough to go for a full buzzcut, plus I like having long hair.
But maybe a half-shaved head? Or an undercut?
Has anyone else here had one? If so, what was the reaction?

Look up pixie fades. Iâve been rocking one for decades soooo much less bullshit

I have had an undercut for a while, people generally think itâs cool. Can be a bit chilly in winter. One downside, it does need some maintenance - a half grown out undercut is very weirdâŠ

@just_kitten I'd imagine that'd be one of the big downsides with a half-shaved head: The awkward grow-out phase afterwards đ«€

Iâve had buzzed sides with longer hair in the middle, and could decide whether to hairspray it straight up or brush it down over the sides. Really liked it. Iâve considered a full buzz cut for practicality, but maintenance and that would probably get more targeted by fuckheads.
Now I just cannot be fucked with anything or anybody and keep it cut short enough to brush but long enough to tie back

I have an undercut, mainly because my hair is so thick I overheat easily. If I wear my hair down you cannot really tell I have one lol.
Most people didnât mind, my dad and his side didnât care in the slightest, and I couldnât care less what mum thinks lol (Iâm no contact anyway these days).
Workplaces havenât cared at all, as long as itâs neat and clean, of course.
3 times I have shaved it down to the skin/light fuzz, usually after I had been dyeing my hair (10+ yrs black, shaved, pink/red/purple, shaved, then a blonde streak in my fringe, then shaved), and the most anyone has said was âomg do you have cancerâ đđ and I just said no, just wanted to shave it after dyeing so the hair grows back healthy.

@StudChud My three big concerns with getting a full shave are how it will look, how work will react, and random dickheads. That, and it's getting a bit chilly this time of the year.
How did people at your work react to the shave?
And did you get many randos making comments about it?
StudChud@aussie.zone âš6â© âšmonthsâ© ago
I had one meth head say I should smile more, but I think that was unrelated to my hair, (told him to get fucked).
People at work asked why, but that was early 2010s. When Iâve done it more recently, I just had colleagues/bosses say they liked it and it suited me đ€·ââïž so no negativity when Iâve done it.
If you do it this time of year, have a scarf and you can hoist it up to keep your scalp warm, or a beanie. I tend to do a big cut or shave at the start of summer.

The shaved bits get colder. Maybe spend winter considering your options with a plan to get a cut as it gets warmer. Exâs with shaved heads have mentioned that there can be a bit of a stigma with some people about a woman with a shaved head. Maybe itâs just that fuckheads are drawn to bother anyone who stands out.

@dumblederp Really good point đ
My hair is starting to get a bit too long at the moment â it's well-past shoulder length. It's regularly getting quite knotty and the split ends are getting bad. So I'll need a cut soon.
Maybe just get it trimmed or cut shorter this time and leave the big buzz for when it gets warmer?
