    Define too long. I like videos of up to 15 minutes. That’s long to some people. Occasionally I’ll enjoy longer videos but almost always I think to myself “you could have said the same in a much shorter video”. And I won’t even start the 4 hours bullshit rambling videos. Do people actually watch that or is it just on in the background?

      If you’re coming up on an hour or more, you should really look at that script again.

      Depends what the video is about.

      If it’s a how-to demonstrating a long and complex process, then it should be as long as it needs to be.

      But if it’s a political rant, then yeah, get to the point already.

      Yeah the algorithm has pushed a lot of creators to 20 mind plus which can be nice for turning on while cleaning up the kitchen but sometimes I see an interesting video and Im thinking thatt if it were 5 minutes shorter I’d click but 20+ needs a lot of content to justify. Veritasium and a few others have fallen out of my rotation because there is a bit of fat on the videos these days.

    You need an addon for that. YouTube lets you block shorts for 30 days at a time.

      That's one of the weirdest features i have ever seen. I know that they just want to push that shit, but no option to just remove it is so dumb. Look at this garbage feature, maybe you love it next month

        YouTube Enhancer is one option but there are ones that are made just to remove shorts too.

        I use a custom filters for uBlock Origin:

        www.youtube.com##:matches-path(/)a#thumbnail[href*=“/shorts”]:upward(7) www.youtube.com##:matches-path(/)a#endpoint[title*=“Shorts”]

        Though they might need to be a little bit different depending on browser and OS (mine are chrome on mac).
