  I stand with the Israeli people and their right to live in peace and safety. At the same time, I don’t agree with all of the Israeli government’s choices on how they are conducting the war. I want the violence to end, and the innocent Palestinian people affected by the humanitarian crisis that has resulted to receive the lifesaving aid they need. And I know that many in Israel share this sentiment.

  He wrote an essay for Time Magazine. It’s a short read but… Yeah even calling it a war is troubling, because Palestine doesn’t have a military? He says he feels for the innocent Palestinian people, but spends far more ink on bemoaning rising anti-semitism, and never really touches on the massive difference in body counts between the hamas terrorist attack and the genocide that isreal is currently engaged in. He also, of course, doesn’t call it a genocide.

  It’s like his heart is almost in the right place, but he just can’t gather to courage to call a spade a spade. He calls the war in Ukraine a russian invasion, he calls the conflict in Lebanon a pogrom. Why can’t he bring himself to call what’s happening in Gaza the same? It’s literally an isreali invasion and a pogrom. He can’t just call for a two-state solution, say he feels for the innocent Palestinians, and wash his hands of the rest.

      That’s anecdotal. Polls of American Jews only show a marginal amount believe a genocide is happening while Israeli’s are even lower. So you’re anecdotal bias doesn’t mean you can call people a bigot over truth …

        It’s very possible to be a bigot with statistics too.

        For example, quoting a survey that says only 30% of Jews think isreal is committing a genocide, while leaving out the fact that 30% of ALL Americans feel that same way.

        So their religion and culture is statistically irrelevant. And the fact that it’s being highlighted is the bigotry.
