And even they are mostly decent people, just misguided by propaganda/misinformation.

I don’t think anyone not living in America understands how deeply propaganda is pushed here across media and culture. The ruling class has distorted everything so much it’s hard to have a coherent conversation with most people on real issues. The misinformation and capital class talking points are intensely deep seated.

Eh, the rest of the western world aren’t really any better in this regard, as much as they try to pretend that they are

I think it’s pretty obvious for us here outside the US too. It is like bad body odour, it is harder to notice when you’re used to it.

No. I’ve had several people admit to me that the hatred is the point.
Anyine who still supports this regime is supporting them because of the hatred.
yucandu@lemmy.world 3 weeks ago
Most people aren’t born hateful. They’re taught it, and you can unteach it too.

I judge people based on their choices and actions.
Some have chosen to embrace the hatred. And so I judge them for it.
At this point in my life, I’m not interested in attempting to redeem people who have chosen evil.

Hate is a multi-billion dollar business in America. The capital class spends obscene amounts of money to keep people hating each other and stoke the culture war. It’s the evolution of the old school union busting on the 1900s.
bryophile@lemmy.zip 3 weeks ago
So you’re hating them back? That’ll teach them!
kreskin@lemmy.world 2 weeks ago
Dont do that. We all make choices and we are all responsible for our actions.
bryophile@lemmy.zip 2 weeks ago
If you hold everyone 100% responsible for their actions, including voting for governments that mess up this world, contributing to global warming, consumption under capitalism, choices they did not foresee the outcome off, etc., then there are no decent people in this world at all.
