Original console, in most cases, is probably gonna be the better option IMO. But due to the rising cost of everything, games/consoles included, emulation is better from a purely price saving standpoint. I am lucky enough to have so many consoles, but I still emulate or use console softmods because I can’t afford every game I want.

I’ve got a Game Cube and PS3 I still use occasionally, and a PS2 that I haven’t tried in a long time but would give it 50/50 for just booting up if I hooked it up, plus some portion of the failure 50% includes the possibility of repairing it.

my opinion is that as time marches on, fewer and fewer of these original consoles will be around. so eventually, we’ll all be forced to use emulators anyways.
on top of that, i guess emulators are cheaper. you already have the computing device, you only need a new controller to attach to it.
