I mean, personally it’s because I don’t get a lot of messages in the first place, and most of the time I’m just lost in my thoughts and not actively busy so it’s a nice change of pace. Now, even I’ll admit 2 seconds is a little short, but I’m often ready with a response within 10

You kind of expect there to be a period where they free their hands, then check the message, then weigh up whether it warrants a conversation right now, then think what to say, then type it. Could take 30 seconds, could take 3 hours if they’re fully busy and you get sidelined.
A reaponse in 2 seconds from cold open always sets me off balance.

You’re thinking too much. Instant responses are not weird. Am I supposed to just wait for a bit so that youre wheels don’t start turning in the most un charitable direction.

Nobody owes anybody anything man do what you want. Its still weird though. Like when you knock a door and they answer it immediately because they were stood right there. You dont expect it.

I agree that would be weird. Difference is a person is holding their phone throughout the day. Its not a good comparison cause the behavior of standing by the front door waiting for it to knock is unusual behavior.
