  yeah i know. god forbid i like just do what i want to do and don’t consider the feelings of someone who is 25 who is projecting all their anxiety and bad choices onto the rest of us and trying to normalize their hebaviours, rather than changing their own.

  when I was 25 i had better to to do than lecture other people on the internet, or in real life. like hang out with my friends, my girlfriend, and working my ass off to improve my future. but i understand that for a lot of young people today, none of those are viable options in their mind, and the only option is to be insufferable and miserable towards other folks and call them names.

  because god forbid you invest in yourself when you can just tear everyone else around you down to your level of misery.

      You may just not deal with these same insufferable young folks that actually ARE priveleged and are upset they dont get everything handed to them. I’m not talking about the average Lemmy user with a masters degree struggling to put in 400 job resumes. Not the same people.

        Even if you guys are right, and im inclined to agree with you, you both sound like smug assholes

        You can say things without being an asshole, but

        you know also what makes someone a smug asshole? budgeting, eating right, exercising, and all the stuff we all know that are good for us

        is just being an asshole for no reason. Nobody said or implied any of those thing, they’re just tilting at windmills because they want to talk shit and don’t like being told they’re talking shit.

        They didn’t even initially mention privilege, just “young people,” so being told to tone down the hate is warranted.

      my dad thought i was an asshole my entire life, because I didn’t like football.

      i don’t think people are assholes for not liking football, clearly that makes me an asshole!

  I mean, its predictable I would say I wasnt actually an idiot asshole at a young age. I always loved learning and could usually decipher wrong from right (in general at least). Maybe thats just cuz of the 'tism, but I was basically 40 when I was 9 😅
