To be clear, it’s a thing in many countries with socialized medicine as well. Sweden, Germany, France, to name a few.

Never paid in Germany (besides the huge monthly insurance payment, ofc). Small payments for absolutely everything in Norway.

For things like ADHD meds, you need to pay an additional amount of money. The insurance just deducts it significantly.
Same for other stuff.
Some doctors offer services not covered or not fully covered by insurance.

The person you’re replying to is canadian. Their government-funded insurance has copays in certain situations. You wasted energy replying to a dingus.

What if they have never heard of the term, even though they are Canadian? That doesn’t seem like an impossibility.
