Yeah I agree, I even think nintendo’s has a bigger nostalgia market with parents who will buy it for their kids.
I think a lot (or at least a lot of the more vocal) older fans will realise that a ground up remake isn’t going to hit the same mark gameplay wise, a mixed bag no matter what for a game with a cult following like oot

Its 100% nostalgia. Unless they change quite a lot of how the game actually works, the game kinda sucks now.
It was beyond incredible for its time, and has earned its spot in the all-time hall of fame, but you won’t be able to get kids of today to actually enjoy it.

Yeah maybe. My nephews are absolutely obsessed w/ Mario 64 despite having basically every console.
Honestly, Mario 64 never resonated with me.
I’m not saying kids will like it, I’m just not as certain as you that they won’t. People went bananas for stardew valley, which is at it’s core SNES harvest moon. The right game in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.

or people just like good games that capture their imaginations and are fun and rewarding to play.
and what makes a game good doesn’t really change with time.

It’s a remake, not a remaster. It will likely have entirely new assets and a modern game design. Familiar but new
