Ehhhh depends on the person really. Not everyone has a close circle of friends they have known for 20+ years. I have several but wpuld still be happy to make more.

Once you hit 40, you enter a whole new plateau of consciousness. You start dressing for comfort instead of her looks. And the only friends you have are the people you’ve been talking to you for the past 20 years. And making new friends Has absolutely no interest

I think it’s because we are all “choosier” with prospective friends due to time being valuable. You don’t want to invest if you know its probably not a perfect match up.
