I started watching a lot of home-improvement type videos on YouTube, and suddenly since then all the ads now assume my dick is horribly bent and doesn’t work, and that I uncontrollably shit and piss myself.

It’s so pervasive I can’t even watch YouTube on my living room TV with my young kids around because I would have to explain way too much to them.

There isn’t a single device in my house that shows Youtube ads anymore. Firestick, my phone, my PC, nothing.

I also watch a lot of home improvement videos on YouTube, and I’ve never seen one of these ads that you speak of. I think there may be some sort of cross-watching or other things going on in your life that you are either unaware of or unwilling to admit on the internet…

A few years back I dived in to men’s mental health on youtube. My husband and I were in a rough patch and I just wanted to see some content created by men to maybe reach/understand him better.
the aglo went… bananas. I couldnt believe how fast shit went to a scary and innapropriate place. Nothinh was helpful in tje end.

As with dating apps, if the mental health recommendations actually worked then engagement would go down. I doubt they even need a human putting their thumb on the scales; the algorithm optimizes engagement in whatever way it needs to.
