    Ordinarily, sure, but we’re talking about hot salt water, which is definitely less corrosive.

        if a soup is too salty you add some potatoes to absorb some of the salt, so i bet they do the same with oil, just more

  We make the hole bigger and install pumps to pull water and debris out. Easy fix! /S
