I wonder how much input Carpenter had into this game (beyond providing his name).
That being said I don’t doubt that the motifs of the games are inspired by Carpenter’s movies, I am just wondering his level of involvement.
How did they even get Carpenter to partake in this? Sabre Interactive is recognizable name, but it’s no EA.

Carpenter has done most of his soundtracks and is currently in a band. So, I’d imagine that he’ll contribute to the OST.

IIRC, he was actively involved with the development of The Thing for PS2, also. And that is a pretty damn good game for being an older, AA, film tie-in game.
