Saturday night is work Xmas party.
I feel like it would be a terrible idea to drink around these people.
What do you guys think?

I probably have 1 or 2 drinks every couple of years, so I might keep to soft drink juuuuuust in case lol

No drinking at work functions. Not even one. Socialise, get seen and go home.

Solid advice.

If youâre able to have a few do so, but make an early exit I reckon.

My work Xmas party is going to be a bunch of adult children drinking. I am not going.

I have to go. I agreed when they asked in my first week and I was too dumb to say no.

For me personally I would try to avoid going as the vulnerability to missteps are high? But also with some jobs youâre kind of forced to network or they hold it against you, so idk read the room the best you can on that.
Maybe go and subtly stick to a drink that looks like alcohol or isnât. And probably leave early because as the night goes on things tend to get more messy.

If youâre new / still in probation, best to be on your best behaviour. A couple of drinks is OK, but not drinking at all is fine too.
