Idreamofcheesy@lemmy.world 6 hours agoIf I’m not mistaken, dolphins can’t physically breathe through their mouth. Like, their both doesn’t have a tube that connects to their lungs. So figure 2 is the only way it could work.

Just researched this and apparently there has been at least one recorded case of a dolphin mouth-breathing. It likely only occurs when there’s something seriously wrong with the blowhole, but it can be done!
