She isn’t stupid. The removed rhetoric is based on how stupid she knows her audience is, and how powerless her opposition is to stop her. Orwell’s lessons on thought and language prove prescient.

They aren’t that stupid. They think you’re that stupid. It would seem, on average, they are correct.
