Xbox hasn’t quite left the market, they’re just slowly sleepwalking down a pier. We’ll see if they wake up before they walk off the end and end up drowning. I’m certainly not holding my breath.

DK Bananza is fun but I don’t think it’s worthy of buying a new system. It’s also pretty cool running Cyberpunk on such a slim system but there’s plenty of ways to play that. It’s got a strong third party base already, but I do think this calendar year’s releases will be important for the system.

Quick resume is pretty much the only thing about the Series X that has stood out for me. It’s nice being able to hop into multiple games without waiting for loads and being right back where you left off. It’s by no means a must have though. It’s way better than the PS5’s equivalent.

Their emulation work is one of the few bright spots of the Xbox platform on the past decade. Things like FPS boost and Auto HDR are nice for improving older games. I’m not sure if any third party emulators can do the same, admittedly.

The PC cannot currently play non-ported Xbox games at this time, though. I get why you’re saying “just a PC” but that’s a distinction worth noting. I hope the PC platform in general will gain the ability to play all Xbox games and not just Xbox branded hardware. I also hope PCs gain the ability to use some of the features that are nice about Xbox (mainly Quick Resume).

I’ve been playing Metroid Prime 4. It’s ok, only more of what I expected, nothing incredible like Dread was for me. You can definitely feel how it’s cobbled together after being in development hell.
I finally picked up Dave the Diver on sale, looking forward to digging into that soon.

Yeah paying back early doesn’t affect it as far as I can tell. Lenders just want to know if you’ll leave them in the lurch or not. If you pay back early that just means they can reinvest the cash sooner.
