Same here, so I’d assume so.
Comment on What is piefed?
partial_accumen@lemmy.world 1 year agoI’m not able to see any content behind those links or even the root site of piefed.social without what looks like creating an account and logging in. Is account creation and login required to interact with piefed at all? No anonymous reading?

Gotcha. That’s a non-starter for me then. I hope I’m not the intended audience for piefed. I never visit Facebook pages for the same reason.

I could be entirely wrong, but that’s what it looks like, yeah.
Absolutely hate registration walls as well.yermaw@sh.itjust.works 1 year ago
“I just want to see what’s there” “Make an account first.” “Is it worth making an account?” “Make an account and find out”

You could check out another instance, for example https://feddit.online/, which is visible without signing in.
Posted.social used to be open for all, but I suspect it needed to be restricted due to AI scrapers. Not sure exactly what the reasoning is though.

Have you considered anubis.techaro.lol ?
rimu@piefed.social 1 year ago
Yes, I've been trying to make anubis work for a while. It's tricky to get right.
Here is an early experiment - https://join.piefed.social/2025/07/09/an-anubis-config-for-piefed/

This is a temporary measure to reduce load on the server from AI scrapers.
