Ohhh, I get it now. Thanks for spelling it out.
Sorry for hurting your feelings. I didn’t mean to imply your bs detector is broken but I can see how it would come across that way.

No.
Copy and paste the body of your post into https://copyleaks.com/ai-content-detector or https://gptzero.me.
It’s ok to be deceived, I don’t blame you for it.

Ironically, that whole article is LLM-generated.

I have just added code which makes the instance vote weight visible in the UI - https://codeberg.org/rimu/pyfedi/commit/04b54e25f44f54420c247152323c90c4a3360a02
You can go to https://piefed.social/instances and check the vote weight of any instance. It’ll be very boring tho because they’re all set to “Votes are weighted at the normal level.” Yes, even lemmy.ml.

- Comment on Why are people using the "þ" character? 3 months ago:
Lucky for you, python is quite readable and the person who wrote it is available to answer any questions you might have.
- Comment on Why are people using the "þ" character? 3 months ago:
On piefed, that character is automatically converted to ‘th’.

Around 70% of lottery winners lose it all, with about 1/3 declaring bankruptcy, often within three to five years of winning.

- Comment on what video game deserves to be in a museum? 6 months ago:
Civ 3 was the first one I played so it sticks in my mind the most, that's all. Any of the Civs would be fine.
I do feel like Civ 3 was a big step up in visual effects, though.
- Comment on what video game deserves to be in a museum? 6 months ago:
To get the obvious out of the way: Pacman, Doom 2, Starcraft, Simcity 2000, Civ 3. All genre-defining milestones.
Total Annihilation. They're still making sequels today (Supreme Commander, Beyond all Reason).
- Comment on What is piefed? 6 months ago:
Some admins really love watching who votes for what and banning people based on that.
You can disagree with that if you like but if it means they get pissed enough to defederate your whole instance, you lose.
If your instance is just you and a handful of others, no one will notice or care. But once you have 1000 users the amount of anonymous votes will be noticed and there will be consequences. Maybe not defederation but everyone banned for upvoting bigoted content will migrate to your instance and you'll be hosting the biggest shitbirds around.
I don't see a solution to this. As long as lemmy and mbin let admins snoop on people's votes that will be the dynamic and PieFed puts itself at a disadvantage by doing anything different.
