- Comment on Nine in ten honey samples from UK retailers fail authenticity test 1 week ago:
The real fucked up part is how bees assemble dangerous chemicals from a wide zone around where they live. So if the farm is near pesticides, they will be collected too. Studies showed that almost all honey is contaminated this way
So basically, unless you’re buying honey yourself from some very remote sources, it’s not the good stuff
Now wait until you read about fake olive oils and their mafias…

- Comment on What kind of special knowledge or equipment does piracy groups have? 3 weeks ago:
Basically, media cannot truly be DRM because: (1) it ~has to be converted into data that screens and speakers can display (2) ultimately if it’s fetching widevine encryption keys, those keys are somewhere in your device and can be retrieved
So yes, you can do it. A “capture card” is such a “gyzmo” — but often, you can just rip using software, i.e. record the decoded stream

Free pay to do whatever you want online, while waiting for them to give you severance / unemployment? Sounds dope, no wonder American companies don’t do this. Americans have no shame

- Comment on How do I make my own internet? 1 month ago:
Well, the Internet is connected together using routers/switches. Your own home network is a “private internet” until you pay to connect it to the big one. So if you want, nothing is stopping you from running cables to your neighbors and hooking together. But then you won’t have access to anything useful except whatever servers you guys run
Was that your question?

- Comment on What's the difference between a proxy and a VPN 2 months ago:
Functionally the same for most people. A VPN is a virtual LAN so you can access other computers on it. Ex. company’s internal websites from a remote location
Proxy just forwards traffic like a gateway. In both cases the source is hidden. LANs have gateways too
- Comment on What the fuck happened to YouTube!? 2 months ago:
Yeah I’m with you on this, I actually only got it for YouTube music — which really is like “here you can play any song from the history of humanity and also yt video audios”
But I have been enjoying the fact that my subscription goes towards paying the ppl I watch, and I like that I’m unaffected by YT’s server side ads concept (which I’ve always wondered why they don’t do, I think it makes CDNs too hard to optimize while stitching ads directly into videos)

Hey man don’t shame ppl for normal variance in sex drive. Being horny is not a disease

Sure you don’t “have to” bathe but you’ll have a bad time if you don’t

I don’t agree, in the experience of my friend circle, if you don’t release for a while:
- you start having wet dreams
- prostate harm - increased rates of prostate cancer in multiple studies - and my friend developed pelvic floor issues
- the “mental harm” is having to walk around horny all the time, constantly thinking of sex, and affecting your interactions
- even celibate people mostly masturbate, that’s not what it means. Including many confessions from priests
- Comment on Why is End of Life of an OS bad for an average user? 5 months ago:
No but you see, there’s no reason a newer osx can’t run on their older hardware most of the time. You can install new windows on an old laptop if it has the specs. It’s not like they lost the drivers or whatever. It’s a choice they made, cutting off users from security updates & newer apps & leaving them with a vulnerable device
- Comment on Why is End of Life of an OS bad for an average user? 5 months ago:
Really annoys me that Apple has a policy of no more updates after 7 years (or when they change the CPU architecture enough) — that’s hardcore planned obsolescence & I think it made their hardware quality worse over time (in addition to being unrepairable)
Super lame. While I’m ranting, their trade in program is a scam that doesn’t pay out almost ever. And otherwise they will “recycle it for free” making money Im sure
So yeah I’m pretty sure the era of MacBook superiority is over & imma buy a considerably higher spec System 76 laptop instead which comes with a repair bible for pretty much every scenario and is upgradeable
- Comment on Why Didn't Democrats Do More When They Controlled Both Houses of Legislature, The White House, and The Supreme Court During Obama's First Term? 5 months ago:
Not really, like I said, bipartisan support. Biden/Blinken just did an emergency act move to send them a ton of funding and weapons. Both parties are at the whims of the military-industrial complex because America is objectively the weapon dealer of the whole world. Even Russia uses American parts in their missiles (despite half assed attempts to prevent that). All of American economics benefits from this situation. And I mean, that’s after we already have been fuckin up the middle east for decades, with countless atrocities
- Comment on Why Didn't Democrats Do More When They Controlled Both Houses of Legislature, The White House, and The Supreme Court During Obama's First Term? 5 months ago:
Yeah they can do big genocides. Nah jk, there’s always bipartisan support for that
- Comment on Could I get an autopsy done on myself while I'm alive? 5 months ago:
Sure you can. I mean, not legally ~anywhere, but pay some sketchy dr 25k and make a world-first snuff film. I’m not sure why anyone would want to do this, and I sure don’t think it would be “cool as shit” but you probably would shit yourself. And I suspect that even if you’re real high, if would still be traumatizing for all involved
