Better luck next time and beware what looks too good to be true. Thereâs always a catch.

I was unsuccessful in my rental application. âšď¸
Iâve booked an inspection of another one which looks ok, but the photos on the website are the same photos it was sold with 7 years ago.
There is another maybe property which looks a bit too good for the price and has been listed for a while, so I am a bit sus about that one. It also has a patch of fake grass in bad condition and a number of very large yuccas.

It might just be location. Iâm learning the âpoorâ areas just by comparing rental prices. But Iâd personally rather have an older house with a bit of yard space in a run down area than one of the cookie-cutter grey townhouses that comprise about 80% of the market. They are just not my style.

Yeah or something in the neighbourhood or surrounding area bringing the price down.

the disused petrochemical facilities are about 2 km from where I live
I canât see them and there is no pollution or smell but I know they are there .
is that any worse than densely populated urban areas with lots of noise and car pollution?

I pruned mine on Friday and have the battle scars to show for it.
Wore long sleeves too.

Unfortunately both actually have yuccas, but the other place has less of them, and they are tucked away down the side of the house.

the photos are often big lies
itâs best to visit in person
and what might be a catch for someone else is ok for you, so just cheack it
for my new place teh âcatchâ is itâs in the western suburbs and near a railway station, for a lot of people thatâs not acceptable, for me itâs ok
RustyRaven@aussie.zone â¨4⊠â¨weeks⊠ago
That might be the only catch with this one too - maybe walking distance to the scrap metal yard is not a drawcard?
