- Comment on Was my ex really sorry/guilty? 4 days ago:
You say “dating” but what are we even talking about here? Conversations on the internet?
Anyways though we can’t say whether the guy is seriously sorry or not.
Pretending to be in a relationship with someone he knew was 13 is majorly creepy and inappropriate. Why was he even pretending to be 14? Was this part of his broader internet personality or only in his messages to you?

It would be good to get a bit of an overview over that instance to vote informedly. Like who is the team behind it, are they set up to support the server in the long run etc etc
- Comment on Happy anniversary of the day absolutely nothing happened at nowhere square! 2 weeks ago:
Well, it does matter as far as lots of people who only have passing knowledge about it will believe that it was at Tiananmen Square, that the guy in the famous photo was run over by tanks etc.
And that makes it easy for the CCP to go “you are all falling for propaganda, that did not happen, look how good we are in not killing these protesters”
- Comment on Happy anniversary of the day absolutely nothing happened at nowhere square! 2 weeks ago:
The point is that according to basically all reputable sources, they didnt die on Tianaman Square. They were ordered to leave the Square and did so. Then they were killed at other points in the city.
But of course, since the protests were on the Square and then the killings happened, most people simply condense it down to the inaccurate version of “killed at the square”.

This. And I’d bet there is something that OP can easily do that the rich kid/his family are not used to.

We are not talking about a specific food here, but about a way to prepare food. It does not matter what you cook - meat, vegetables, whatever. It’s about cooking it in water instead of sharp oil-based cooking.
And no, it is not new at all.

Everything about that show is weird in a way that can only be explained through a minimum of a 30-minutes viddo essay or lecture.

That is also my experience and I can see from your username that you’re from a german speaking country as well.
I am wondering if this is somehow very different in, for example, the US.
- Comment on Life is unfair to landlords 1 month ago:
Is landlord a “job” where you live?
I think every single person I know who owns a house/flat and rents to someone has of course a regular job where he works at. Wouldn’t be financially viable in any form otherwise (and it shouldn’t be).
- Comment on What are some examples of some of the most well-known and watched TV series at the time that been forgotten culturally? 1 month ago:
Two and a Half Men was big for a long time and gets pretty much ignored nowadays - which is probably fair tbh, it lost its soul pretty fast
- Comment on If a gay man and lesbian woman have sex, is that gay or straight? 1 month ago:
I’d say sexual intercourse in itself can’t be homo- or heterosexual since that is a denomitor for people’s sexual attractions.
The sexual intercourse would simply be male-female sex.

I read a beautiful review in my (german-language) newspaper today, focussing on Halyna Hutchins’ cinematography and emphasizing how much this movie benefits from it.
Basically saying that while Hutchins was not award-winning famous yet, her work on this film would have raised her profile in the industry further.

Absolutely, my phrasing in calling him “not biologically male” was due to me not speaking English as a first language and not being sure how to phrase it correctly
- Comment on Conclave was almost a great movie, but failed to stick the landing 1 month ago:
I’d agree that it seems unnecessarily overdramatic in the movie plus due to the fact that we are closed in with the cardinals, we don’t see how this attack was possible nor the police investigations that follow it. So we are left with an incomplete picture and the cardinals’ reactions to that.
- Comment on Has anyone here watched Conclave? How was it? 1 month ago:
Yeah the person was predictable based on the narrative structure.
Regarding the final twist
Iirc Lawrence gets tipped off at some point about Benitez’ secretive, papal-approved medical treatment that he then cancelled instead of going through with it. I kept thinking about what it could be, and while I didn’t predict the twist completely my mind did wander into that direction. Mainly because it became quite clear to me that this story would pull every possible scenario that a conclave could have.
- Comment on Conclave was almost a great movie, but failed to stick the landing 1 month ago:
Iirc this is pretty realistic. After a certain number of voting rounds cardinals often agree to switch to a different candidate, with such candidate who suddenly comes up as a new option taking a huge jump in votes for him.
spoiler
And given when the book was written - on the height of Daesh/ISIS bombings in Europe - the fact that a jihadist group would bomb the Vatican during Conclave makes way more sense than if it was a white supremacist group. The fact that the last twist isn’t properly influencing anything is, I believe, also down to the fact that it is simply adapted from the book.
