- Comment on ‘The Sandman’ Season 2 Reveals Surprise Bonus Episode and All 12 Episode Titles 3 hours ago:
From the very beginning of the article:
Netflix revealed on Tuesday that, in addition to the 11 episodes already announced, a bonus twelfth episode will drop on July 31. The bonus episode is titled “The Sandman Presents: Death: The High Cost of Living” and will focus on the character Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste).
As previously announced, the first six episodes of Season 2 will debut on July 3, with the next five premiering on July 24. Netflix has also revealed the 11 titles for those episodes, which can be seen below.

Meh, don’t really have interest in this, but I love Amber Midthunder in everything she does so I might check it out just for her.
- Comment on The Sandman Showrunner on Decision to End Series, Neil Gaiman Factor 5 days ago:
Sounds like it was always going to get a proper ending. From the article:
“It was a decision we made three years ago,” Heinberg shared about when the call was made to wrap the series with two seasons. Based on his conversation and reporting from EW, Warner Bros. Television had a writers’ room in place to chart out where the adaptation could be heading before the first season premiered. Heinberg shared that “lots of different versions of what season 2 could be,” were put into play before the decision was made to focus on Sturridge’s Dream. “There are some volumes where he just appears in two scenes,” Heiberg explained, noting how focusing on Dream’s direct story reduced the amount of source material dramatically. “There’s so many protagonists in Sandman, but you think of the whole thing as his story.”
“It turned out to be about another season’s worth of story, without leaving out anybody’s favorite moments or scenes. We managed to add a great deal of material, as we did in season 1, and a lot of really fun surprises for fans of the comics who know the entire story. We pulled from a lot of different sources. We took a lot of the single-issue stories and wove them into the fabric of Dream’s narrative,” Heinberg continued.
- Comment on US congressional documents without PDF chapters.... 1 week ago:
I hate this shit.
If I had to guess though, it’s probably because whatever lowly congressional staffer that exported the document didn’t have the Acrobat Pro license, because that takes a whole separate procurement process. Or some other stupid shit like that.

Yeah I’m not that upset about it, but I was at least a bit disappointed that Jimmy Smits couldn’t make it work with his schedule. That’s all it was though, a scheduling conflict. He played the role as recently as 2022 in the Obi-Wan show.

I think this is a bad idea, and I don’t want it, but the one upside is it might help me finally understand the game’s storyline…
- Comment on Why does it seem like every other post on here is deleted shortly after being posted? 3 weeks ago:
I kind of get it in cases where no one has commented yet, and the OP realizes a mistake or how stupid a question it is. But once there’s engagement, I wish the OP would leave it up.
I’ve noticed this a lot lately: I’ll comment, my comment will get engagement, so I’ll check the thread again to reply or read other comments, do that, then come back later to follow up again, and it’s all been deleted. Like, even if the original post was stupid or embarrassing, the fact that there was genuine engagement, to me, means it shouldn’t be deleted.
But again, I understand the anxiety of leaving your own stupid words up if they really bother you, so I won’t lose sleep over this.

Yeah the single camera thing is a lot. I usually get used to it, but it’s a ton of movement.
- Comment on ‘The Studio’ Renewed for Season 2 at Apple TV+ 3 weeks ago:
It’s really funny, but it’s also kinda hard to watch. That’s probably at least partly the point, Rogan’s character reliably makes the wrong decision or does the most cringeworthy embarrassing thing possible, in every situation. I’ve started guessing what wrong thing he’ll do, and he always does it. It’s a really well-made show, with an absurdly good cast, but I have to be in a specific mood to enjoy this kind of comedy.
- Comment on John Lithgow Won't Let J.K. Rowling Haters Bully Him Into Quitting ‘Harry Potter’ Role 5 weeks ago:
Nothing Rowling has said should even be remotely controversial.
What an obvious flat out lie. I snorted when I reached that line. I can’t understand how the author could include bullshit like that. Doesn’t pass even the most casual smell-test.
Here’s an article that Vox keeps having to update to ensure everybody can track Rowling’s detailed history of transphobia. Rowling is transphobic, that’s a fact.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
You’re not paranoid, it’s a real pattern, and that pattern is racism. Some white people, in their wildest dreams, can’t imagine how a person of color might get a role instead of a white person. It’s not about skill, it’s not about creativity, it’s not about the quality of the film. It’s just blatant racism.
Remember how the little mermaid live action movie started getting shit before it was even released? That was because the lead actor was black, and peoples’ imaginations are so underdeveloped that they couldn’t see that she is legitimately an amazing talent who played the role just as well if not better than any white lady could have. Now, live action Disney remakes are stupid, so maybe that’s not the best example, but it’s all just racism.

- Comment on I’m probably no longer center-left. If you could decide from my thinking, what political affiliation should I research to see if it fits me? 2 months ago:
I think you are underestimating the power of empathy. I mean this constructively, not as an attack. In my opinion, it’s the single most important emotion for leading a fulfilling life, maintaining healthy relationships, and contributing to and living in a healthy society. The cool thing about empathy is that almost everyone can learn how to do it, even if it doesn’t come naturally. Think of it like a muscle you need to exercise. If you don’t use it regularly, your abilities can atrophy.
You’ve already recognized that you’re not great at empathy, which shows that you are capable of self-awareness, which is huge! The next step is just to find a way to turn that awareness inside out and put yourself in other peoples’ shoes.
The fact that you’re wrestling with the issues you bring up, shows me that you do care about these things. So I think it could be valuable to interrogate what specific things you do and don’t care about when it comes to all the things you mentioned. If you do that with empathy for others always in mind, I think most of your concerns will resolve themselves.
- Comment on Friday is a boycot day of online retailers. I saw this from CPUSA. 2 months ago:
Do something real
If I had been planning to make a big purchase on Friday, but decided to join the boycott and not make the purchase, that is absolutely doing something. That is money that the retailer will not get from me.
If I usually buy groceries on Fridays, or Friday is the day I drive by the local Target and sometimes stop in, but because of the boycott I actively decide not to, that is absolutely doing something. That is money that those retailers might have come to expect, that they will not get from me.
If enough people make those decisions, the impact will most definitely be felt and reach the top.
Collective action is incredibly powerful. Sometimes collective action means deciding not to do something, together. And that is also incredibly powerful.
I’d love to hear your suggestions on what “real” looks like to you.
- Comment on What movies have you watched this week? 2 months ago:
I watched the first one a couple weeks ago, and I was struck by it. It has some really cool and unique visuals, and it just had a very different vibe than American animated movies like it. Really enjoyed it, despite the super-weak English voice acting for the dub. I’ll probably watch it again in the original Chinese before the next one is released on streaming or physical.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 months ago:
Most BO comes from the bacteria that grows on the armpit hair after sweating, so while he’d probably have issues with the “manliness” of this suggestion, if he just shaves his armpit hair it’ll take a bit longer for the BO to develop. As long as he’s showering regularly, that is…
But it’d probably be better to just tell him that cleanliness and showing that you have personal hygiene (by washing regularly and using deodorant) is most definitely manly. Having BO doesn’t make him manly, cause I’ve got news for him: women have BO too.
- Comment on Why there is no photos of earth from space? 3 months ago:
I’ve earnestly answered some of your other questions, when it was quite clear you were either trolling or incredibly stubborn, and this additional question (which purposefully ignores the basic answers I gave you weeks ago) makes it obvious you don’t actually want to learn anything. Stop asking questions if you don’t intend to genuinely engage with the people who are taking the time to respond.
- Comment on "Captain America: Brave New World" has received a B- on CinemaScore, the lowest score for an MCU film. 3 months ago:
Totally agree with this. The second season wasn’t great as a whole (though I still enjoyed it and don’t think it deserved all the hate), but I still thought Mackie was excellent in it. He’s a really versatile and talented actor.
- Comment on Why are old ladies so popular on the internet? 3 months ago:
Since this community is for any kind of question, I’ll answer, but I get the vague sense that you don’t really want a genuine answer, based on the inherent bias you included in the question (calling someone older than 20 a hag is pretty uncool, for example).
But here goes: people have different tastes. Different things turn on different people, and your lack of experience being aroused by older women says nothing about the legitimacy of those who are. Also being 21 for example, is still considered very young by most people. Your question presumes that everybody in the world must only be attracted to very young women, and frankly that’s a bit strange and just not how the world works.
Try to put yourself in some other people’s shoes, and I think this question would answer itself. Your sexual preferences are not everyone’s preferences.

- Comment on Justin Baldoni's 'Pac-Man' Movie in Doubt Amid Blake Lively Battle 3 months ago:
Oh no…what ever will we do…?
Any adaptation like this is such a flagrant cash-grab. Is there anyone in the world (who doesn’t stand to make a quick buck) who actually wanted a feature length live-action movie about a silly arcade game some of us played decades ago?
I’ve got an idea! Come up with an original concept, and make that. I don’t need some generic consumer-friendly backstory for a cluster of pixels that gobbles other clusters of pixels.
- Comment on Why do some people think others are troll just because they don’t like what they have to say? 3 months ago:
It’s a pattern of behavior. If a user spends their time nitpicking every minor detail of a comment, but seems to be incapable of understanding that other people have different ideas, or worse purposefully parses someone’s language incorrectly just to continue an argument back and forth without any progress or even a desire to see a resolution, only wanting to have the last word, I consider that to be trolling. Nobody has benefited from the interaction, and everybody leaves frustrated, annoyed, and only further entrenched in their original position.
I think people have pretty different ideas of what behavior counts as trolling, but simply disagreeing with a user or not liking their posts doesn’t make them a troll.
- Comment on Should I avoid communities on lemmy.ml? 4 months ago:
Ehh I’d suggest feeling it out for yourself to be honest. I’ve had some great interactions on .ml communities, as well as .world communities. But also some hair-pulling insanity. That’s where some of the most active conversations happen, but that also means you’re more likely to encounter some trolls and some awful petulant fools. When you do, just unsubscribe from the community or block the user and you’re all set.
Self-curation is one of my favorite things about Lemmy, and it’s why I like .ee as an instance, because it’s quite neutral and they let individual users choose what communities we want to see and don’t force decisions down our throats. The beauty of this place is that you can always switch instances or block communities and users you dislike, you just have to spend some time curating your experience.

Fourth. It puts into words things I had long accepted as normal. Knowing this kind of behavior is atypical, unhealthy, and not your fault makes a huge difference. Definitely read this book, it’s a really short and easy read, though I personally had to put it down for a few days between each chapter to process everything.
- Comment on Star Wars: Outlaws Reportedly Sold Less in 2024 than Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Did – WGB 4 months ago:
Geez, I wish it didn’t all come down to which sold more. They’ll probably over-learn some grand arbitrary lesson from this. Outlaws was an awesome game. Granted, I had very low expectations, but it blew them away with the main gameplay and the minigames.
It felt genuinely like Star Wars, and they managed to pull that off without lightsabers or Jedi. Kind of like Andor did to be honest, though they’re not really comparable.
The locations were unique and variable, but very familiar to fans. The combat was simple and nobody is overpowered, and you feel like you’re part of a massive anonymous galaxy filled with scoundrels trying to survive.
And again, the minigames…I lost sooo many hours to Sabacc.
I also loved both Outcast and Survivor, but they’re very different, and I really hope not everybody judges Outlaws with those games as the only reference.
