Oh no…what ever will we do…?
Any adaptation like this is such a flagrant cash-grab. Is there anyone in the world (who doesn’t stand to make a quick buck) who actually wanted a feature length live-action movie about a silly arcade game some of us played decades ago?
I’ve got an idea! Come up with an original concept, and make that. I don’t need some generic consumer-friendly backstory for a cluster of pixels that gobbles other clusters of pixels.

You know, I mostly agree…
However, there’s a kinda meh series called secret level that had a damn interesting take on pacman.
The question comes down to the idea, imo, not the side source of the idea. And, once that idea is in play, whether or not it’s a cash grab is largely determined in the process more than it being attempted in the first place.
I don’t think pacman can support a movie. It barely supported a cartoon back in the day. But it the idea behind the movie is good enough, I ain’t mad. I doubt that it is good, because most studios only churn out IP related dreck, but that’s a different aspect
