- Comment on Which movies have you seen this week? 6 hours ago:
Gladiator. Last time I saw it was like 10 years ago and my wife hadn’t seen it yet.
- Comment on How do you voice chat without bothering roommates? 6 days ago:
Ask your roommate after talking for a few minutes if you’re being too loud
- Comment on Companionship 1 week ago:
Just got a crazy Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon with this. I saw your reply and then a couple hours later I’m reading about GeoIP blocking on my router

Having a launcher open in the background is less conspicuous of having the game open in the background.
- Comment on Did something about mass produced ice cream change like 10 years ago? 1 month ago:
I’ve found that most generic store brand ice creams are high quality. Double check the label to make sure it actually says “ice cream” and not “frozen dairy dessert” or something. Ice cream is a regulated term and requires a minimum percentage of buttermilk to be called such.

thanks, this makes a lot more sense.
That being said, 70C down to 35C is a huge difference, relative to the temperature ranges we live in

I mean… that’s literally half though

- Comment on Any game with a forced stealth section needs to have it as a warning so you know not to buy crap. 2 months ago:
I’d say the opposite:
Any stealth game with a forced overt section should have a warning.
Examples:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Optional stealth game, but the boss battles just drop you in a room with the boss fully aware of you and that’s the fight.Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey - Optional stealth, except for the battles for power where you can flip control of an area. No stealth allowed.

- Comment on If you could change the ending of one movie, which one would it be, and how would you change it? 4 months ago:
The Whale has a terrible ending
spoiler
He tries walking for his estranged, newly connected daughter and in this huge climactic moment he’s having a heart attack and then he just looks up and goes “UHH” and that’s the end. That’s it. Look up -> UHH -> end.
I think a better ending would be him ::: spoiler spoiler having the heart attack ::: and then dying slowly in the hospital with some kind of heartfelt conversation with his daughter and then die.
- Comment on What are some things you can do to maintain your teeth when you don't have health insurance amd can't afford dental care? 4 months ago:
If you are truly struggling and need actual dental care, try searching for a local dental school near you. Many will take patients for cheap or free, with the caveat that a dental student will be performing the treatment.
Otherwise, brush at least twice a day and floss. Do not re-use strands of floss, like with those convenient plastic picks. You’ll just be transferring bacteria to each crevice after it’s been used.
Get a water pick (whatever it’s called) - I heard those are great but I don’t have one myself.
- Comment on Moms, I you were struggling with your child in public and a man offered to help, would you let him and why? 4 months ago:
What is the “right” action here then, in your mind? Would you rather a stranger grab the kid’s hand or pick them up?
Touching someone else’s kid without explicit consent from the parent is likely to get you in some trouble unless you can explain to them that you just saved their kid.
- Comment on brewing tea with space vacuum? 5 months ago:
I’m not a scientist by any means but I’m pretty sure it’s the temperature that matters when steeping the tea. You can use hot - but not boiling - water just fine.
So I’d say: probably not

- Comment on Why not serve fried chicken on Juneteenth? How is it different from serving corned beef on St. Patrick’s day? 5 months ago:
If you hate someone, anything they do can be something you use to express your hate, even if you do it to.
Yeah I think this is the big kicker right here.
- Comment on Why not serve fried chicken on Juneteenth? How is it different from serving corned beef on St. Patrick’s day? 5 months ago:
I don’t understand that, though…
Fried chicken is fuckin delicious.
- Comment on What would be the consequences of a smallsword wound to the belly? 6 months ago:
Beyond initial bleeding - extensive gastrointestinal issues, depending on where it hits. If it lacerates part of the intestine, it may leak feces into the abdominal cavity. It would require flushing and antibiotics to prevent going into sepsis from massive infection.
If it does enough damage, you could be looking at removing a portion of the intestines and possibly requiring a colostomy bag.
Abdominal wounds are no joke. The liver bleeds profusely if lacerated or punctured. All of the blood flow to the abdomen exits through the liver into the inferior vena cava.
