Fandom is such a shitshow… I was part of a wikia based wiki for more than a decade and experienced the transition following the buyout by fandom/curse.
The first thing they did was to fire almost all the local staff and replace it by their people, then the enshittification began; they introduced a new discussion feed to replace the forum function (which was basically just lazy a Twitter clone), it was completely separate from the main wiki and pretty much killed off that side of the community. There were a lot of users that just used that without ever stepping a foot into the main wiki, which obviously isn’t very helpful when the site relies on users to create and maintain articles.
They also trippled the amount of ads on the site and introduced a new layout that fucked up the old one we had meticulously created.
I left that place in 2017 and so did pretty much all of the users and admins I knew. Once one of the top ten German language wikis, it’s pretty much abandoned now.

I’ve been hearing AI radio commercials more and more lately and while they don’t actually sound bad for annoying commercials I wonder what all of those voice actors will do now… Oh well.

This is going beyond the “serving suggestion” bullshit that is commonplace in ads. AI food will never look like the real thing, or vice versa, whichever you prefer.

OP is incorrect — macOS 26.4 didn’t set the charge limit to 80%, it didn’t set it to anything, it gave you the option to limit charge to 80, 85, 90, or 95% charge, or disable it if you’ve enabled it
You’re right, I guess I still think calling something a feature implies that you can turn it off.

I’ve never really been a Mac user primarily so I just adopted the best practices from Windows and Linux. If macOS is supper efficient that way then cool.
I still wouldn’t leave it on 24/7.

Don’t buy consumer laptops, especially not ones that are as cheap is that. Buy used business laptops; Dell Latitude, Lenovo Thinkpad, even used HP EliteBooks are better are better value than most stuff you get under 1000€ new
