- Comment on Parkrun and other sports bodies face legal action over transgender inclusion 4 days ago:
I wonder if a part of this isn’t just for the publicity itself so that the sponsors of parkrun get scared and withdraw their support
- Comment on Parkrun and other sports bodies face legal action over transgender inclusion 4 days ago:
Who the fuck cares who enters a park run? A non competitive event where everyone runs or walks together. I hope common sense prevails so that this is thrown out and they have to pay legal fees

There’s a simple solution here: ban fat people from using the lifts
- Comment on MPs call for sunbed advertising ban to help prevent skin cancer 6 days ago:
All for it, but will it stop people? I’d think most people are aware of the danger, they just go anyway

A whole melon? In this economy?
- Comment on Majority of Britons would back a smoking ban in pub gardens 1 week ago:
Vapes I don’t mind as much, the smell is no where near as bad for me. My main issue with them though is knowing what the hell is in the “smoke”. The regulations don’t seem to have caught up
- Comment on Majority of Britons would back a smoking ban in pub gardens 1 week ago:
I think that is only shared accommodation, if you rent a property on your own, then it’s not illegal. Although I can’t see any landlords allowing it though due to the staining etc.
- Comment on Majority of Britons would back a smoking ban in pub gardens 1 week ago:
Not sure how practical it is but I would want to ban smoking anywhere in public. Do whatever you want in your own home, but smoking next to people just because there’s no roof directly overhead is just being a dick. Surely everyone knows about 2nd hand smoke at this point.
- Comment on MP rejects Palantir’s claims that criticism of NHS England deal is ‘ideologically motivated’ 1 month ago:
Of course it is ideologically motivated, Palantir could be the best and cheapest option but we still shouldn’t give them contracts. They are a US company and subject to the US cloud act so we would be giving up our data to the US.
We need better procurement guidelines/restrictions for public sector software contracts so that UK companies have greater weight.

- Comment on Scrapping North Sea windfall tax would not reduce UK energy bills, say experts 2 months ago:
I really need people to understand that oil from the North Sea isn’t nationalised and so is sold on the open market, at open market rates. Just because it’s drilled near us, we don’t get much of a discount, if any.
- Comment on We conduct affairs of state in a building that’s riddled with asbestos and mice. Can’t Britain do any better? 2 months ago:
If they managed during the pandemic I think they can handle it now. I would like some departments to be moved out of London but I get that London is a talent draw so some staff would not like to move.
- Comment on Only 10% of boys aged 14-16 read daily for pleasure, National Literacy Trust finds 2 months ago:
That’s still pretty high, we have all the same problems as the US, just on a 2-3 year lag it seems
- Comment on New train stations part of £14bn UK government rail funding promise 2 months ago:
Glad there’s a north Wales station included. Would have liked to see the proposed Greenfield station on the coast line included but the Deeside one is good, especially once the Padeswood work is done to improve capacity.

- Comment on Grok AI key to Sport England suspending X account 3 months ago:
While I would accept a ban on X, the easiest way is to just to move away from it. If enough government, celebrity, news/sports accounts stop using it, the less relevant it becomes.
I can’t take a government seriously when they announce they are looking into banning X, whilst still being on it
- Comment on Businesses call to be included in any pub rates backtrack 4 months ago:
What is it with pubs and politicians. I get they are culturally significant but you’d think they are the only place people go outside of home and work in the uk with how they always make exceptions for them.
I feel like you can’t cut rates for pubs and not for cafes, for example, as there’s hardly anyone kicking off ant an costa and needing the police to show up.

Wait didn’t we just solve kids not being able to watch porn? If that’s such a success surely we don’t need this?
- Comment on 6 months ago:
They’ve done this with a few other games. I remember the EU5 review being really choppy and it turned out they were running it on like 6-7 year old hardware. It might just be a cost cutting measure to not buy the latest stuff for all their reviewers but I basically ignore most of what they say now.

Do we even have a big issue with underage drinking anymore? I see loads of articles about kids now not drinking as much as older generations, how many are getting drinks in proper venues vs house parties? Looks like the government with a solution in need of a problem to me.
