- Comment on Scrapping North Sea windfall tax would not reduce UK energy bills, say experts 1 day ago:
I really need people to understand that oil from the North Sea isn’t nationalised and so is sold on the open market, at open market rates. Just because it’s drilled near us, we don’t get much of a discount, if any.
- Comment on We conduct affairs of state in a building that’s riddled with asbestos and mice. Can’t Britain do any better? 2 weeks ago:
If they managed during the pandemic I think they can handle it now. I would like some departments to be moved out of London but I get that London is a talent draw so some staff would not like to move.

That’s still pretty high, we have all the same problems as the US, just on a 2-3 year lag it seems
- Comment on New train stations part of £14bn UK government rail funding promise 3 weeks ago:
Glad there’s a north Wales station included. Would have liked to see the proposed Greenfield station on the coast line included but the Deeside one is good, especially once the Padeswood work is done to improve capacity.

oh man I’m going have to setup EmuDeck again to play this. Criterion did not deserve what EA has done to them, bring back Burnout you cowards.

- Comment on Grok AI key to Sport England suspending X account 1 month ago:
While I would accept a ban on X, the easiest way is to just to move away from it. If enough government, celebrity, news/sports accounts stop using it, the less relevant it becomes.
I can’t take a government seriously when they announce they are looking into banning X, whilst still being on it
- Comment on Businesses call to be included in any pub rates backtrack 1 month ago:
What is it with pubs and politicians. I get they are culturally significant but you’d think they are the only place people go outside of home and work in the uk with how they always make exceptions for them.
I feel like you can’t cut rates for pubs and not for cafes, for example, as there’s hardly anyone kicking off ant an costa and needing the police to show up.

Wait didn’t we just solve kids not being able to watch porn? If that’s such a success surely we don’t need this?

They’ve done this with a few other games. I remember the EU5 review being really choppy and it turned out they were running it on like 6-7 year old hardware. It might just be a cost cutting measure to not buy the latest stuff for all their reviewers but I basically ignore most of what they say now.

Do we even have a big issue with underage drinking anymore? I see loads of articles about kids now not drinking as much as older generations, how many are getting drinks in proper venues vs house parties? Looks like the government with a solution in need of a problem to me.

- Comment on Starmer and Macron to announce ‘one in, one out’ migration deal 7 months ago:
One in one out will not really keep the reform lot at bay they think of illegal immigrants and asylum seekers the same way. All this does is put immigration back into the news cycle for Nigel to get more air time staring at boats in Dover

Especially as there’s no competition. At least then they couldn’t just put up bills to cover it as you’d just switch, like energy.
