And everyone still on the platform is funding that. All the MPs and journalists that still post there fuel it.

A bit like the entire “Your Party”. Has everyone got a refund yet?
I’m for public ownership of water, but not sure how that solves the shit entering the rivers without massive investment, which would take time to achieve.
There needs to be a plan for all water companies, not just taking over the one in administration. Not excited about my tax money going to help London

Your forgetting the best ones: free used needles and condoms
- Comment on How can we revitalise the high street? 1 week ago:
My one issue with free parking is when it’s in a small town with a single “high street” and the parking is on that street.
Granted it’s not possible everywhere, but having free parking off the high street in car parks around it, for me, is the best approach. Then aim to either restrict parking or pedestrianise the street entirely.

When I was at school if you were in say year 7/8/9 with no exams the last few weeks of the school year were almost worthless. Just watching random movies etc. I think school should take that into account much more

It’s shocking that this needs to even be said. I can’t believe there are functioning human adults (and in my experience it’s mostly older people) who are so unaware as to be ok with blasting tik toks at full volume.

Direct debits should be switched automatically, but yeah agree about having to change it everywhere else

It’s such a goofy game that hasn’t really aged well (in both gameplay and writing) but I absolutely love it
- Comment on Banksy works cost public almost £150,000 3 weeks ago:
And it’s cost double that to have a sham by-election in Clacton. Sounds a lot, but a drop in the ocean of public spending

Why is this such a big story? Other than people at Cambridge Uni, who cares? Seen like 5 different articles about it and I just don’t get it

- Comment on Birmingham council accused of giving ‘free rein’ to group erecting England flags 5 weeks ago:
Ignoring them is the right approach. They are doing it hoping for the council the react so they can then claim them as “unpatriotic”. Ignoring it robs them of that and shows them for the racist little men (and it’s almost always men) with way too much time on their hands that they are
- Comment on And still I see no changes 5 weeks ago:
Much less time
Does not mean no time, but that it will not be the focus so most of the energy and time will be on domestic matters. He might make some changes, not being as friendly to Isreal is probably what will happen. But he isn’t going to suddenly change 180 to what has been policy for the last 2 years.
IWhat I’m trying to get at is that if you expect him to cancel arms deals with Isreal and provide aid to Gaza, then you will be disappointed.
- Comment on And still I see no changes 5 weeks ago:
He’s also signalled he will spend much less time on foreign affairs compared to Starmer. That to me does not mean the mistakes will be undone
- Comment on And still I see no changes 5 weeks ago:
Did anyone expect foreign policy changes? Burnham has only really talked about domestic policies which seems to be his focus.

- Comment on Asylum seekers to be billed £10k to cover own support once they start earning money 2 months ago:
A stupid plan that’s aim is to appease Reform voters but fails to do even that. What happens to those that don’t work after being approved, or earn below whatever threshold they set? Hardly a deterrent if they don’t have to pay. Actually do the opposite and make people avoid full time work, or work all together.
I know the average Reform voter isn’t all there upstairs, but come on, even they can see through this. It’s embarrassing
- Comment on Greta Thunberg Slams UK Government Ahead of 40C Heatwave 2 months ago:
And despite that, the same UK government just today passed the 7th Carbon Budget that aims to cut emissions by 87% by 2040. They are also bringing forward the next “clean energy auction” to get more renewable investment. Plus loads of upgrades to the grid to get more renewable energy to where it’s needed.
Granted they delayed the fuel duty increase but I feel like you can’t really blame this current government over much climate related.

I wonder if a part of this isn’t just for the publicity itself so that the sponsors of parkrun get scared and withdraw their support
