I don’t think rejecting Christmas gifts is on par with telling your parents not to enjoy themselves because you want their money when they die.
I’m going to spend my money and wealth as I see fit. I will not raise my children to bank on me dying before they turn 60 (realistically they’re gonna have to deal with me for a long time) so they can inherit some sum of cash.
For context, I never expected any inheritance from either parent when they died. Neither did I get anything except for a pair of gloves.

looks around at countless houses made from wood I guess northern Sweden, which gets below -30°c every year, lost its European status.
- Comment on Why does it seem most people, mainly conservatives, against Trans people? Unless I am wrong I never heard of one shooting up a school church or whatever. The ones I have met have been pretty cool. 4 weeks ago:
It’s on OP to prove. But reasonably most people aren’t transphobic considering how big of s topic, if you will, transsexualism had become lately. I don’t think most conservatives are transphobic either.
Kind regards, someone who would be very liberal in the US.

Sorry to be that guy, but Scandinavia is just the “peninsula”, so Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The Nordics is us three, Finland, Iceland, Färöarna, Åland and Greenland. Basically what you probably think of when you think of Scandinavia.
But yes, we rule 😎

That works. Until you get a cramp in the opposite direction and the same time. It’s the 2nd closest experience to child birth I’ve had. The closest is a cramp stretching from the inside of my foot, up the outside of my thigh, up my back. Nothing but death seems to help.

I think you’re reading their comment too literally. I think it’s meant as a joke that the stick is nearing its “EOL”, not the person holding it, but they’re wilfully misinterpreting it.

Let’s say I get sick
Day 1: 0% pay Day 2-14: 80% pay from my employer Day 15-90: “barely” 80% from Försäkringskassan, up to a relatively low ceiling (disfavours those with high incomes, doesn’t really affect the common worker). With a collective agreement from a union you could also get an additional 10-15%(?) from your employer Day 90-: pretty much the same, the 10% from the employer is replaced by insurance instead. If you’re sick this long it’ll be a bit of a bureaucratic PITA

In Swedish (maybe also Norweigan and Danish too?) we have a"mil" which is 10 km, I wish this was more wide spread because it’s fairly convenient.
It could even be called a mile! We already have ton/tonne which is just an absolute nightmare of a unit, so we might as well add more confusion to “mile”.
