I just replied to Witcher 3 comment, and I have a completely opposite take here. It surprises me that some people put BotW in same category as other open world Ubisoft games, kinda curious to see how you all tackled the game compared to me. For me, the possibilities just seemed so endless with that game, I never felt restricted to do anything, the physics are bonkers in both BotW and TotK, it really made me flex my creative side and I appreciate the game for it. I understand if you don’t like the game because it’s not your cup of tea or because it deviates too much from a Zelda formula, but Ubi-slop?

I didn’t find it boring, I loved it start to finish, but I was not blown away like others were. Idk what unique thing they were seeing that I wasn’t.
- Comment on Insuranace is a joke 1 week ago:
Idk why people jump to defend these policies. They are 100% correct, but being correct doesn’t negate how scummy the insurance companies are. Based on how much we pay on a monthly basis, you would think we should be appropriately compensated when we do need to use the insurance. The simple fact is that the devil is in the details.

I don’t like Activision as much as the next Lemmy user, but let’s not kid ourselves. CoD still sells a shitload every year somehow.

You damn well know that people who complain about this are just not clever when it comes to making jokes, they just say offensive things and other bigots just laugh. Now that they get shunned for saying those offensive things, they have creativeness to come up with something.

- Comment on Would you rather stop playing a game than lower the difficulty? The First Berserker: Khazan devs reckon you would | Eurogamer 2 months ago:
Some developers are kinda bad with balancing though, there are definitely instances where I lowered the difficulty and just went through the game.

I like this meme format more when it kinda makes fun of the og format of it being pointlessly gendered

Honestly, that’s the way I read the parent comment. Become a roadblock for the trash we have today.

There is probably a much better study than my silly little hypothesis, but I think politicians attract a lot of narcissists. Yes there are plenty of genuine and honest people in politics who are there to help people, but it’s also one of those careers that you can get by solely on lies and grifts, you are just trying to convince an average person to vote for you in most cases after all.

It was just an art piece, but ever since it took a meme form people took it as an actual product
- Comment on Asus and Lenovo’s handhelds get price hike as Valve pauses some Steam Deck sales 4 months ago:
I never pre-order, and I am not advocating for pre-ordering, but just curious, can’t the item just be returned if the customer is not satisfied?
- Comment on Microsoft and Asus announce two Xbox Ally handhelds with new Xbox full-screen experience 4 months ago:
Looking at your use case, I would go with Asus. You would already have a decent library because of some Xbox Play Anywhere titles, plus there is also gamepass.

It’s crazy to me how many pickup trucks with trailers drive so recklessly, it’s like they don’t know they are hitching something. I see other cars being accommodating to them by slowing down more than usual to let them merge in.

I’m not too worried about that, Elden Ring was a February game.
- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 dev calls Randy Pitchford's $80 Borderlands 4 comments "gross" because it implies the FPS is more important than "making it day to day" 4 months ago:
But that type of fun is something I can get from many other games, making borderlands way less desirable if it’s $80. On the other hand if larian says that their next game is $80, I already know that I won’t find that type of experience anywhere else and I might just splurge.
- Comment on The PS3's comeback was insane 4 months ago:
PS3 launched at $500 in 2006 and Xbox launched at $300 ($400 with HDD) in 2005. Then ps3 had a slim model in 2009 that was $300. Xbox was ahead and Microsoft got lazy whereas ps3 was starting to get some fun exclusives and had a free online. There are just multiple factors that played into this.

Average folks don’t take a pic, edit it to make some text space on top and then write the whole story there. If this was like a Twitter/Facebook post with the text in the post caption then it would be more believable.
- Comment on How I view others in social media 5 months ago:
Yea, that’s what I was trying to imply by being “self aware”. Since I realize I have nothing original to add, I just won’t say it.
- Comment on How I view others in social media 5 months ago:
I can never tell if it’s bots or if people are just so unoriginal. I mean I’m not that original myself, but at least I’m self aware.
- Comment on GTA 6's delay doesn't mean the games industry's in trouble - it's already dead 5 months ago:
Wake me up when indies are hitting the fan too, as it stands I don’t have any shortage of new amazing indie games to play. Not to mention, my backlog barely gets a dent in it even if I manage to finish like 2-3 games a month.
- Comment on Ubisoft Accused of 'Secret Data Collection' in Single-Player Games 5 months ago:
I’m sorry, but that’s a terrible analogy. In the gaming scenario, Ubisoft is collecting the data on their own product usage, your hairdresser analogy is going outside of the service that the hairdresser is providing.

This makes the most sense because of the added context. On the same-ish note, why do so many people online riff on bodybuilders? Body builders are just sculpting their bodies to the best to their abilities as their hobby, they are not trying to be some kind of Olympic athletes, but you’ll still see classic Redditor like comments “um…but can he actually fight the though 🤓”

I’m less bothered by that person not knowing and way more bothered by them just being so confidently incorrect. Doesn’t take long to just look it up yourself. Unless the whole post was an educational setup?
- Comment on Do you use your blinker in a car? 6 months ago:
I would rather overuse it than under use it. Funnily enough I do use mine in turn only lanes too, it’s just background noise to me at this point, but I never used it while pulling out of a low traffic suburban/rural house.
