Theoretically, we could see the PC gaming market come to resemble that of eastern Europe in the past, where everybody has very minimal or outdated hardware and the indie scene builds games with this in mind.
That’s pretty dire, but I prefer it over cloud subscriptions becoming the norm for gaming and other compute heavy tasks.

This is actually something I don’t understand when this argument is brought up. Havent they both been killing each other since well before the modern period?
It made a little more sense when the argument was that Hamas is bad, but that doesn’t justify collateral damage to Palestinian civilians when targeting them. But it seems to me the rhetoric I see often has switched to making excuses for Hamas, who directly tries to kill children whenever they get the opportunity, including putting their own Palestinian civilians in the line of fire to confuse attacks against them and get them killed as “martyrs”. Which they use to justify their actions, even though they caused it.
I don’t see how Israel’ careless around getting noncombatants killed justifies deliberately targeting civilians, which Hamas does constantly, or doing things like putting a rocket launcher on top of a hospital just so it looks bad for Israel when they destroy it. It’s not like Hamas wants a peaceful two-state solution and Israel just isn’t playing along. And theres not a lot of anti-Hamas sentiment in Gaza since they get murdered by Hamas, and they did vote them in in the first place.

She hosted Motaz Azaiza, the “journalist” who frequently praises Hamas, and was present with Hamas at the October 7th attack itself. So I correct myself, he only might have participated in directly killing civilians and children, but he was at least hanging out with his friends when they were doing that.

I mean, you’ve got to appreciate star wars for coming first. Without Star Wars, there’s probably no Gundam (and I’m not just talking about the knockoff lightsaber) and in turn no Evangelion as we know it.

I didn’t know it went that far back. I first heard about it around 2009, and it wasnt strictly associated with 4chan but it seemed for all the world like a new trend at the time.

Well, the term got created by people who were using it to describe themselves as if it were a disability and they needed some kind of special treatment to solve their “problem”. Naturally this also had an overlap with the then-trending “Pick-Up Artist” community right from the start. Or incel forums which were an insane crab bucket of woman-hating basement dwellers. I don’t even mean like just rude to women, I mean hate and fear.
Needless to say being associated with this group in any way was embarrassing and it quickly became the butt of jokes. It quickly became an insult, though I don’t think it’s exactly fair to apply to people who just are virgins rather than self - described incels who are a member of that community.

Anecdotally: I’ve lived in the sort of place he’s describing and the internet was an overpriced monopoly. Farmers and people in larger cities both paid much better prices for better service. But the ISP had some deal where they had exclusive rights to run equipment on the power poles (or other companies needed their technicians present first or some bullshit which they would delay to the point of impracticality).
At $115 he probably didn’t get the lowest speed and could have done like $60 for internet and $40 for phone but yeah, I can believe it.

Eh, its true that no-one does sales like Valve. Even while the sales aren’t as good as they used to be, Steam pretty much forced the market to move on what a “good” discount was. Calling it a nice move to save you money is a joke but they really did bring prices down in the whole market.

I can believe you knew someone like that once. But no. Religious fundamentalists are not widespread and pervasive. They dont make up the majority of a fucking fast food chain to the point where you would say it’s only “technically” open to the public. They dont make up much if any of the police force. What on earth led you to think that is the case. Did you live in a town with a population of 124 that was like that?

Look theres good enough reasons to hate Chick-Fil-A but you are not telling me your brain lives in a world where the teenagers who work there are all (or even a lot of them) isolated religious fundamentalist nuts who just got let off the cult compound to interact with society???
They hire normal people with interviews??? Teenagers go to fucking public school???
The leadership isnt even close to “westboro baptist church” levels of extreme???

Nope, someone spoofed the band name and its an AI generated song about Minecraft. Somehow this still caused it to get immediately recommended to me.

I’m starting to think there are more rare instances of left wing violence than common instances of right wing violence.
In the future, when you watch more of Tyler Robinson’s social media get released to the public and then see him testify at trial, you will see how obvious it is that the claims he was anything other than a pure “reddit leftist” were shameless gaslighting.
When that happens, please try to think back to all the other times you’ve been lied to.
