- Comment on That lawsuit against Steam’s 30% cut of game sales is now a class action, meaning many other developers could benefit 3 weeks ago:
Thankfully it wasn’t a great success. Almost every time they were able to only get a time-limited exclusive.
Tens (hundreds?) of millions well spent! /s

Can we have a frivolous lawsuit against Epic Games Store as well?
I mean, they pinky promised to take a lower cut so everyone (including customers) will benefit, but so far only the publishers got anything out of it and customers don’t even get basic features in the EGS client.
- Comment on Black Mesa has a new Beta with 'WAY better' support for Linux / Steam Deck 1 month ago:
You keep posting that without giving any source for your claims except for some screenshot out of context.
Is this a real concern or do you just have some weird vedentta against the guy? Seiosuly, you’re in every comment section when this website is mentioned.
- Comment on Portal 2 project lead wants Valve to return to single-player games 1 month ago:
It’s usually the same reason for their best games. :)
With previous Half-Life games came Source engine and the entire Steam.
- Comment on Portal 2 project lead wants Valve to return to single-player games 1 month ago:
Sure, it’s not like their last full release was actually a single player only game.
The headline is taken a bit out of context, the guy being interviewed seems to imply he doesn’t really consider VR “single player games”.
And besides, he left Valve 7 years ago.

That’s a very… capitalist way of thinking.

I don’t know why people are saying this is a well written article - the author seems to be bewildered that a game that looks good is bad.
It’s really not that complicated. At the end of the day it’s a game and gameplay is the single most important feature.
Just look at Breath of the Wild: it doesn’t look particularly amazing, and it runs like shit on the only hardware it’s available on.
But it’s the great gameplay that keeps people coming back for more. - Comment on if you're not going to let me do this microsoft then let me turn off auto restart all together. 3 months ago:
You know what else is unsafe? Letting Windows force the auto-update and break your bootloader (and that’s just their latest fuck-up).
- Comment on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been delayed again, this time until the first half of 2025 3 months ago:
Right, that’s why I’m not convinced this will ever actually release.
Abandoning all previous work, and the fact that new devs don’t exactly have experience with this genre…
I’m still gonna give it a try, but I’m not hopeful. - Comment on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been delayed again, this time until the first half of 2025 3 months ago:
I’m surprised it’s not cancelled yet.
I think at this point its development is even more troubled than the original, which is kinda impressive in its own way.
- Comment on Asus ROG Ally mentioned in latest SteamOS 3 beta release notes — Valve's platform expansion ambitions take shape 4 months ago:
That’s not really on Valve though.
It’s the hardware makers that needs to step up and make sure their Linux drivers are well written.
I’m tired of having to install patched kernels to get basic functionality on laptops (looking at you Asus!).

It’s EU’s GDPR.
Anything like a newsletter or marketing must be opt-in. And it cannot be bundled with other consent, that is they can’t refuse to provide you a service if opt-in isn’t absolutely necessary.
To be honest, not sure if any other countries have such laws.
- Comment on Annoying marketing practices 5 months ago:
Opt-in by default is illegal, so OP has every right to be annoyed.
- Comment on CNN blocks Firefox with uBo 11 months ago:
It’s not only legal to assume, it’s a requirement to default to “no”.
Tracking is opt-in. - Comment on BREAKING NEWS: Amazon workers around the world on strike [2:45 | Nov 24 2023 | Progressive International] 1 year ago:
Why? People can still order at “discounted” prices, their packages will just arrive a little late.
I’m sure actual profits will not suffer too much.

What’s your point? Microsoft is easily several times bigger and is a “noticeable thing” in pretty much every country.

That’s just basic decency.
