I could do this, reading out loud even. And not know what the fuck I just read for the last 10 minutes.
And yes, I have ADHD.

Besides all that manual labor requires math. A ton requires geometry.
You think plumbing, framing, electrical or any trade is done without measuring and quite complicated math?

- Comment on Why is the term "bloodline" often used instead of "family tree"? 3 weeks ago:
Whichever path it takes. It will only go in a single path unless you have some incestuous relationships. And if that happens and multiple routes work, it doesn’t matter which one you take.
- Comment on Why is the term "bloodline" often used instead of "family tree"? 3 weeks ago:
So if you look at a family tree, the bloodline is the direct order from person a to person b, with everyone in the middle. It doesn’t include everyone else that isn’t in that direct path.

People are crazy. Feeling threatened by telling someone “hey, you didn’t vote last time. Please make your voice heard by voting” is wearing your persecution complex on your sleeve.
Fragile fucks.
- Comment on Cynthia Erivo calls out fans who made their own Wicked poster 4 weeks ago:
She makes no mention of the hand covering up the other actresses face either.
I keep staring at the original, trying to figure out what she’s trying to communicate. I’ve seen the Broadway musical. I know the story. The vacant expression just doesn’t fit. It doesn’t convey any emotion I associate with the character.

What benefit would streaming plane models have?
Landscape and real time weather data makes sense. Things are changing and it doesnt make sense to have high res textures of the entire planet on users PCs. Or are you just meaning on demand download of the skin?

Residential listings were “white pages” and businesses were “yellow pages.”
Yes, they were big, printed on very thin paper, with small typeface.

I ordered something like shampoo. It opened in the box and got everywhere. Amazon wanted me to return it for a refund. The box was soaked. No way I could have returned it.

When a student goes to school, the school becomes in loco parentis and the student doesn’t have protection from school officials. Children, on campus, general do not have protection for free speech, protection from unreasonable searches or seizures, or really any of their rights.
The school, acting as parents, can restrict their speech, search their bags, and confiscate contraband.
- Comment on ‘Who dreams this crap up?’: Kevin O'Leary slams new rule that allows employees to ignore their bosses after hours 2 months ago:
Yea. If I remember my fires correctly, this one also has doors that opened into the theater so as mobs of people pushed to get out, the doors jammed and couldn’t be opened. It directly led to the regulation for outward swinging egress doors and “crash” hardware. Which are those bars on exit doors so in an emergency people can just crash into them and they open.
- Comment on ‘Who dreams this crap up?’: Kevin O'Leary slams new rule that allows employees to ignore their bosses after hours 2 months ago:
As someone else pointed out. The triangle shirtwaist factory fire.
But as another example of businesses doing shitty things that led to people dying. The Iroquois Theater fire in Chicago. They didn’t want poor people changing seats to nicer ones so locked the doors to those areas when the play started and they bribed people to not finish their fire safety equipment but still get approved to open. Hundreds died.
- Comment on Why does the USA have so few legal protections for ordinary people, and how can we change that? 2 months ago:
$1000 is likely small claims court. At least where I was, no lawyers are allowed for small claims so the landlord would have to come to deal with it himself or a representative of the payment company.
- Comment on My job offers "free" online consultations for mental health reasons. Every single "available" slot is during working hours. 2 months ago:
If any of my reports told me they booked an appointment through the health care we provided and it was during the work day I’d just say okay, mark it out on your calendar as busy so I don’t bug you or expect anything from you during that time. If they need to account for all their time like some roles, bill it as admin time.
- Comment on How do people in this day in age become nazis/neonazies sexist or even incels when there is so much knowledge against it? Do they get anything out of being that way? 2 months ago:
External locus of control.
Bad things in someone’s life is not their fault, but the fault of whatever scapegoat.
Can’t get a girlfriend? It’s women’s fault.
Can’t get a job? It’s illegal immigrants.
Can’t afford to do the things you like? It’s the government taking too many taxes.
Whatever problem someone has, they are looking to blame someone rather than make any changes in their own life.
- Comment on Was Elvis Presley a pedo? 2 months ago:
For “She was just 17” Paul McCartney was only 21 when that song came out and was dating a 17 year old then. Might have written it when he was 20 and the age of consent in Britain in that time was 16. That’s only 3 or 4 years age difference. I don’t get weird vibes from that. The Beatles were young when they started.
Neil Sedaka’s “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen” is one that gives me the strangest vibes.
- Comment on Why do radio stations all seem to go on commercial at the same time? 2 months ago:
I can’t say. I think I have uv-5r that can and some that can’t.
You’ll have to check the listing you got it from. Maybe even go to an unused ham frequency and see what happens when you press the PTT button.
- Comment on Why do radio stations all seem to go on commercial at the same time? 2 months ago:
Some baofangs even are sold with the ability to transmit locked out for ham frequencies now. They can still transmit in the frequencies that normal walkie talkies operate on though. I think they started using btech as the brand for the ham radio ones are now.
Was annoyed when I accidentally bought a few of those. But they’re only like $17.

It’s almost like that offer letter than you signed is a contract that specifies your job duties, pay, benefits, and time off. If you have a union, then there is a whole other contract as well.

- Comment on Why is DNS often joked about in the I.T. Industry? 3 months ago:
A records are usually fine for web dev, and some cname records. But if you move DNS to different name servers it doesn’t take the MX, srv, or txt with you.
Name servers are where all the DNS records are hosted. It tells every computer who is the authority on the information. If you change those without moving all the DNS records to the new location. All the old ones are no longer used at all. Even if they still exist on the old system.
Also spf records might also reference the websites a record to allow the website to send email without getting flagged as spam. If the site moves, but emails are still sent from the old IP address for a myriad of reasons it would break email. Like if they used some provider that hosted the site and emails on the same system, which used to be more common than it is today.
- Comment on Why is DNS often joked about in the I.T. Industry? 3 months ago:
Because so few understand it and so many things use it.
If you read a guide on setting up a website. They might have you change a DNS record and you might not realize it’s doing something else. Web developers frequently want to make changes to DNS and will change the name servers away to theirs but not migrate any of the records for anything besides the website. They’ll break EVERYTHING but hey, the website will load.
If you read a guide on connecting some service like hubspot. They will have you add spf records. But those need to be included with the existing ones and not just replacing what’s already there. Mess it up and every single email you send will get sent to spam folders.

In all my partners, it’s always been different. Some liked it when I was rough and threw them around. Others really enjoyed being eaten out. Almost all enjoyed fingering as foreplay. Some really, really enjoyed having their boobs played with. Another one wanted me to get angry and fuck her even when she said stop (she got really annoyed when I would listen to her and actually stop, but we were young and didn’t know what consensual non-consensual was, she didn’t tell me ahead of time, and we didn’t set up a safe word or establish the red-yellow-green system.)
The woman I am with now, really gets off from praise. She loves it when I encourage her to do what feels good for her, when I remind her how sexy she is, when I tell her how much of a good girl she is, and when I tell her I love her.
If you want a simple answer, the best I can say is to talk to the woman and find out what she enjoys and try that. Just remember that just because she enjoyed something with a precious partner doesn’t mean she will enjoy it with you. Sometimes you’ll meet a woman who doesn’t know what she likes. So try different things, encourage her to share any ideas or fantasies and try them. She might think something is sexy in her fantasy and find out it doesn’t live up to what she’s thinking.
Oh! And it can change from sexy-time to sexy-time. So pay attention to how she reacts and do what she enjoys that day.
- Comment on Why won't companies release old games or at least make very old ones free? 3 months ago:
Have you looked at the Nintendo store? It’s got tons of old games in there for the switch from various old consoles.
Playstation often has old games in its store, over half the psx library was for sale on the PSP and ps Vita.
- Comment on Disneyland unions agree to ‘historic’ 31% pay raise 3 months ago:
Honestly, while that’s good, I still think it’s not enough. It takes effect over 3 years and still barely beats out McDonald’s.
I’m concerned they don’t respect long term cast members enough and this will probably, once again, reset their pay to the same as newly hired employees. 50 cents an hour extra for working there 10 years is a pittance.
Specialty locations are probably still getting paid 25 cents more an hour (which might have been meaningful when wages were under $10/hr.
I wonder if their pay premium for leads has increased from the $1.50/hr that it was.
I will say that pay alone is only a small portion of what those contract negotiations should be.
