I genuinely tried to like the second game but the characters were so cringey that I just couldn’t make it past the first missions.

I had no idea this game still had such an active community. I remember being so disappointed by the wasted potential when it came out and this mod seems to restore the original vision the devs had for the game before Ubisoft forced them to cut corners.

Looks promising. You rarely see Godot games with graphics like these.

I bought Project: Snowblind and E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy for a total of 3 Euros. I’ve been replaying the entire Deus Ex Series over the last couple of months and these two games are kinda similar in nature and I’ve been wanting to play them for ages.

It’s not meant to be taken literally. Language evolves and boomer no longer exclusively refers to baby boomers, it’s just a general Gen-Z term for older people.
- Comment on Inpaint upload 11 months ago:
Yeah, you got it right. The advantage of this method is that you create masks based on things like outlines and color ranges and at higher resolutions. You can also blur areas of the mask to better blend it into the image.
- Comment on Inpaint upload 11 months ago:
Awesome, glad I could help!
- Comment on Inpaint upload 11 months ago:
If you do not want to do the inpainting directly in the web interface, you’ll have to upload a “alpha mask” of the area that you want to inpaint.
Here’s an example:
Let’s say this is your image. You open it in a editor that supports layers like Gimp. You add a transparent layer on top and draw the area that you want to inpaint over it in black. It should look like this.
Next, you replace the color layer with a white layer. It will look like this:
This is the image that you save and what you upload to the Automatic1111 web interface. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
- Comment on Geoff Keighley: I do agree that the music was played too fast for award winners this year [...] it’s something to address going forward. 11 months ago:
The music was generally all over the place IMO. I hated how they played that cheesy violin theme whenever they caught a whiff of someone being even slightly emotional and followed it up with their upbeat main theme right after. It’s definitely something they should work out before next year. I don’t remember it being this bad in the past.
- Comment on Lemmy Mods: How do you keep track of the reports you receive? 11 months ago:
I mostly use the desktop interface, so I’ll see if there are any reports in the upper right corner.
- Comment on What game did you last finish? What did you think of it? 11 months ago:
I also just finished Alan Wake 2. The first game is in my top 3 favorite games of all time, so I was super excited for the sequel. The overall presentation is definitely A++ and so are the graphics. However, there were a couple of really obvious and annoying bugs that should never have made it past QA.
While I really liked the new characters, the overall storyline has become (even by Remedy standards) extremely convoluted and the ending wasn’t very satisfying. I also found the constant references to Finland a bit too much on the nose and they kinda took me out of the game a couple of times.
Of course the game makes it up in other aspects, such as the new gameplay that was clearly inspired by Resident Evil, which I also really like. Alan’s mind place was also fun and I found the ability change the scenes by rewriting them very creative. Saga’s mind place started out great as well, but it started to feel like a chore as the game went on.
Despite the nit-picking, it is pretty good game overall and I’m excited for their future projects in this universe.

This is way too real, there actually was money in the glove box but the candy thief didn’t take any of it
- Comment on A hate crime 1 year ago:
I can believe it. Kinda reminds me of the time someone broke into my buddy’s VW Golf by actually picking the lock on the trunk, climbing over (and breaking) the rear shelf and stealing some (but not all) chocolate candies he had in his center console. He even ate the candies in the car, there were wrappers all over the place.
Still baffles me to this day.

The first one is one of the greatest games of all time IMO, it’s better to experience it first hand. This video is more of a TL;DR.
You can regularly grab the original on sale for less than 5 bucks, so it’s definitely worth it. The graphics are a bit dated by now though.

This is the single most coherent summary of the story that I’ve seen so far. I don’t think I’ve been this excited for a game in years.
- Comment on Orson Welles - War Of The Worlds - Complete Radio Broadcast 1938 1 year ago:
I listened to the broadcast a few weeks ago because I was curious about the supposed panic that happened because of it. I was genuinely surprised how modern the whole presentation felt. Especially the first segment including the initial alien attack was pretty believable and very well done.

I agree, the first Equalizer was the kind of movie that you can just mindlessly watch and still be entertained. The second one was the kind that is so ridiculous that it just takes you out of the movie every few minutes. And not in a “so bad it’s good” kind of way.

I always enjoyed the single player campaigns during the Xbox 360 era, so the “remade” trilogy is making me a bit nostalgic. Not nostalgic enough to pay 60 (?) Euros for a maximum of 8 hours of game time though.
