Its hard to make wise decisions when you’re basically a kid at that age.
- Comment on Anon cheats through college 2 weeks ago:
Yeah I remember in high school they were pressuring every body to go straight to uni and I personally thought it was kinda predatory.
- Comment on Anon cheats through college 2 weeks ago:
Its probably a regional difference. Here in AU, you can be lucky and land a few post grad jobs if you really stood out. Otherwise you’re entirely reliant on having a good folio and most importantly connections.
- Comment on Anon cheats through college 2 weeks ago:
Yeah fair point, but then how are you going to get the job if you’re completely incompetent at programming 🤔
- Comment on Anon cheats through college 2 weeks ago:
I meant any form of qualification. Sure it helps, but the way you get the job is by showing you can actually do the work. Like a folio and personal projects or past history.
- Comment on Anon cheats through college 2 weeks ago:
Hey that sounds exactly like what the last company I worked at did for every single project 🙃

Not a single person I’ve worked with in software has gotten a job with just a diploma since like the early 2000s
Maybe it’s different in some places.
- Comment on Anon cheats through college 2 weeks ago:
Yeah that’s object oriented programming and interfaces. It’s a shit to teach people without a practical example but it’s a completely passable way to do OOP in industry, you start by writing interfaces to structure your program and fill in the implementation later.
Now, is it a good practice? Probably not, imo software design is impossible to get right without iteration, but people still use this method… good to understand why it sucks

A diploma ain’t gonna give you shit on its own
- Comment on Anon cheats through college 2 weeks ago:
Why would you sign up to college to willfully learn nothing

You would only be awake for 30s after sudden decompression

The queer community has been known and active for a very long time. The stonewall riots occured in 1969, making it prime time to make media about the LGBTQ community.
- Comment on How am I supposed to obtain income? 2 months ago:
There are usually many layers before your application actually gets to someone who understands the job and can actually evaluate how valuable you are to the role. There are an insane number of applications that are just gone before someone useful can actually read it.
I know personally I would never have gotten my last 3 jobs were it not for networking and knowing people.
Networking really is the way forward. I understand for some people that socialising is insanely difficult, but knowing the right people can get you jobs that you aren’t even qualified for.

I didn’t spend as much time as I wanted to at the indie section, but the game where you roll around as a roly poly was insanely fun. And there were a bunch of really fun vr games.
Kill knight was also a ton of fun but I’m biased because it was made at the studio I work at 😅.

I think I saw your game at pax but forgot to say hi. Hope you had a great time

Wallpaper engine for interactive wallpapers.
There’s mechvibes for system wise keyboard sounds (but you can’t do better than just having a good keyboard)
I’m sure there’s a Firefox extension for filters, but most browsers focus on actually being good browsers over random gimmicks so you might be out of luck. Value your privacy and your data

Hell yeah there is, an entire section dedicated to retro and collectors. Still remember playing halo 2 split screen on an og xbox with a group of random people and it was so fun.

Indie games, tabletop and classic consoles, as usual. And any dev related seminars or group events.

They’re just trying to have a casual conversation, as long as they aren’t trying to offend you it’s fine. It’s shit treating staff like an eftpos machine and not acknowledging they are human.

You need to tell your friend that you don’t appreciate this behaviour, and perhaps make some new friends. It’s also not your fault or responsibility if you’re in a better situation than someone else, but if you can help bring other people up that’s good.
