- Comment on Anyone have success trapping live insects? I feel like this should be easy, but I have no ideas. 5 days ago:
No tips on catching live bugs, but if you’re in a apartment situation it’s possible roaches can come from neighboring apartments. (they can even swim up pipes into your sink apparently). I had an apartment where I did the same and I still had issues. I looked under my sink and saw a big hole around where the pipe went into the wall. I bought some foaming insulation and filled in that gap. After a couple days I never saw the fuckers again. So check for any avenues where they can be traveling between units.
- Comment on Why does it seem like Americans have become so hateful and destructive in the past years? 6 days ago:
I don’t really know why. Since I was a kid it feels like there is so much more hate, so much more Red vs Blue. It feels like everyone assumes if you are republican or democrat that you must be far right or left. Gods forbid there are moderates. Gods forbid you care about your neighbor regardless of political or religious belief or the choices they make.
It feels like “fuck you I’m taking my share and screwing you over” in order to make it in this capitalist society. It feels like philanthropy is a joke, that rich people don’t invest in it unless it’s a tax break. It’s funny we don’t see new buildings built with art or frills outside. It’s just cold, monolithic type buildings which are as cold as the assholes running it inside. Very few companies care about their customers or employees. They just want those quick profits for the quarter. Fuck everyone else as long as they get their share. They expect this profits to go on forever but they don’t realize that it has to end sometime and I hope every one of those companies collapse because of how hollow they’ve become. I know these are weird things to focus on but I feel like they are symptoms of bigger problems. It shows what is becoming a primary value in society which is MONEY MONEY MONEY instead things like ethics or looking at the bigger picture.
And fuck all these politicians who are busy lining their pockets with gold. Gods forbid they act like civil servants or at least vote on what is best for the people. There are industries that will get you fined and imprisoned if you commit fraud or the APPEARANCE THERE OF. Politicians should have similar laws slapped on them. Same goes for the Supreme Court which has become a fucking joke.
I’m sure there’s a lot of little reasons that add up to this shit. I’m sure politicians stomping on education has a lot to do with it. It feels like critical thinking is not a basic skill anymore. Sure we can blame ourselves a little, but is it really all our fault?
And Jesus christ this brain dead social media crap where people just shit all over the internet and post comments or videos full of lies or contraversial crap just to get clicks because of either bullshit popularity or once again MONEY MONEY MONEY.
I do what I can to tolerate and not create this division of the country and to do what I can locally in the political landscape but I feel powerless to make any real change. That powerlessness is frustrating and infuriating. So yeah, when I see one asshole Ceo get taken out I feel a little glee and I hope it sends a message. I don’t wish I’ll upon others, but I’m not going to not say “he had that coming.” I don’t know if that is what others in my country feel but that’s how I feel.

- Comment on Reason for Walmart online product reviews frequently being service related? 1 week ago:
I think it’s a combo of stupid and some people can’t be arsed to reach out the seller to fix shit or they expect they’re going to get ignored.
I know on amazon some people will give a negative review and the seller will refund or replace the product and ask for an updated review. They might be hoping for free product.
- Comment on I'm transferring to another ward within my hospital and the whole thing feels odd. How do I sort myself out? 1 week ago:
I think it’s the fact that it is a change and change brings uncertainty. If you stay where you are, you at least know what to expect even if it’s crap. Changing… You don’t know what to expect.
It’ll be okay. Tell yourself if will be okay. It’s time to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the change. It could be worse, but more likely it’ll be better. You’re doing the right thing.
- Comment on how do I show a coworker that I care about her after her mother died? 2 weeks ago:
A sympathy card would do. You can sign it just yourself or if it’s the type of office community you could pass it around for others to sign. Other than that, just leave it be. Just l a card or a few words of “I’m sorry for your loss” are enough to show that your heart goes out to her and her family.

I guess if he puts out (as in he pays the bills) it’s worth it. Just keep your mental health in check and know this shit isn’t normal. If he wants to charging rent or some bs then remind him you earn your keep by pampering his ass. Good luck to you!

Please teach me this zen, because holy hell toddler tantrums are the worst! They’ve made dealing with morons at work much easier.
- Comment on what works for you to let go? 3 weeks ago:
I think arriving to the ability to not let this trigger you requires a lot of little decisions and changes. Like accepting that people will fail or suck at their job, being able to roll with shit, having alternate/backup plans… Like if the cable guy was coming today, then I’d have shit planned to do around the house and I wouldn’t plan anything else that day. I’d game, clean, do chores, do outside projects, change the car oil, whatever needs to be done nearby that I can take a break from when they finally show up. Small businesses I’d probably call in the morning and verify they’re showing up for sure that day.
I guess it’s a combination of assuming the worst case scenario and focusing on what you can control. (“Plan fo the worst, hope for the best”) So in the case of the shitty co worker, I’d ask them to tone it down. If they won’t, then what can I do? Can I move elsewhere? If I can’t I might ask the supervisor if they can get my desk moved. Of course they are going to do the easier job of telling Jack wagon to stfu but now it’s coming from the supervisor. I can control the coworker, but I can control myself, I can try to manipulate the situation. There might be other options depending on the situation like putting in earbuds and refraining from clubbing them like a baby seal.
But yeah, I agree. I think a person yells when they think they have no power over the situation. I grew up being yelled at all the time it’s very easy for me to fall into that trap too and I understand how hard it is to not resort to that when I’m frustrated or overwhelmed. It gets 100x worse when I’m tired.
- Comment on We need a new Amazon 4 weeks ago:
One problem I’ve been having with ebay lately is that I’ve ordered items and they’re coming drop shipped from Amazon or Walmart.
They’re always sellers with ratings in the upper 90s and with like 1000ish or less reviews. A lot of times they list is as only having 1 or 2 left in stock. I’ve been having some luck going into the reviews and seeing people say “came in an Amazon box” to avoid them.
It’s one thing to wholesale stuff and resell it, it’s another to just drop ship it from Amazon and Walmart. Been ordering on ebay for many years and I’ve never seen this before.

- Comment on We need a new Amazon 4 weeks ago:
I agree, but sometimes you just need some cheap shit. I’d rather pay 2$ for stickers for my kids than the same ones for 9$ on amazon.

- Comment on We need a new Amazon 4 weeks ago:
I’ve been going to Walmart more because of all the Chinese sellers. I fine with it if it’s not on Temu for cheaper and if they disclose it’s going to take three weeks to ship. It pisses me off to no end when they indicate it’s going to take 3 or 4 days to get to me and then I check the tracking a couple days later to see a Chinese mail tracking number.
So try Walmart, if you want stateside stuff then use the retailer filter and select “Walmart.”
Another alternative, if it’s likely made in China or cheap, then check Temu. I’ve found things all over Etsy which is just crap bought from Temu and posted on there for double the price. And I mean they get the package, repackage it, and send it to you. No alterations or anything.
You can also look at ordering directly from manufacturers. Sometimes you’ll get deals.
- Comment on We need a new Amazon 4 weeks ago:
This right here! If you are looking at something on amazon go to Ali or Temu.

- Comment on how do I avoid leggings creasing below the knees? 5 weeks ago:
I think that unless you get some with a strap that goes under your foot that’s attached to the bottom of the leggings or modify it to have some, that you will always have that crease because you’re moving around.
Here’s an example oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=544598002&v…

Something that interests him other than fascism. Idk why that has anything to do with a gift. A gift is there to show appreciation and love, not to manipulate their pov.

I was thinking last night about how I used to go cash my paychecks and then drive over to the Verizon store and pay my phone bill. I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills on the website anymore. I’d have to call and give my checking info over the phone or get money orders to mail shit in. I can’t even order standard checks with the account I have now.

- Comment on why do most celebrities/influencers & some normal people have those fake-looking teeth? 2 months ago:
You’re totally right. I imagine a lot of those ads are airbrushed to emphasize the teeth because that’s essentially the product they are selling. I imagine some people are like “well if it’s that white on that person, maybe it’ll actually work for me.”
Some people also have veneers put in because their smile is important to their job or because their teeth are stained from coffee or fluoride.
- Comment on I have a very strange question about washers, dryers and the Middle East. 2 months ago:
Could also be the flow of the house. Every house I’ve been in where the washer and dryer are side by side, the washer has been closer to the entrance of the wash room and the dryer is farther (and usually towards the back door). My thought process would be dump the clothes in the washer and then kick the basket in front of the dryer to pull them out later and get it more out of the walking path. (unless there’s room on top of the dryer)
