Costco sells rotisserie chicken at a loss. It’s an easy way to get cheap, relatively healthy, low effort protein.
- Comment on Game design question : how to make a "trapped" player character? 5 days ago:
Funny enough, I just finished playing through Paper Mario 64, and you’ve basically described Peach’s chapters. She’s able to pass on messages by way of using another character as a messenger.
The way the game is structured is there’s a mini Peach chapter in between each main chapter, but I think it would have been intriguing if you never actually got to see Mario’s side of the story and only heard about his adventures from the guards, diary entries, etc. Cool idea for a puzzle game!

Hayao Miyazaki’s art style specifically has so much life injected into it, that you would have to be incredibly specific to even approach his style.
There’s an instance that stands out in Spirited Away, when Chihiro is putting on her shoes, she taps the toes of one foot against the ground to set it on correctly. A miniscule detail, but one that makes her feel more real. You’d need such an elaborate prompt to make that happen via AI, but thats the kind of detail that he includes in his movies. To him, the thought of having “someone” illustrate that who has never put their shoe on incorrectly and had to fix it is beyond inauthentic. That’s my take. Less about the worry of technology taking over, and more about the technology not understanding the language it’s being taught, because it can’t.

But that’s why you do a single snow pea, with a repeater behind. Until you can save up for winter melons, then you replace 3/5 sunflowers with them in the back row and have two rows of repeaters. Then some tall nuts and spikeweed (my beloved).

You just described the cultural burning practices that were in place for thousands of years though.

Other than the forest fire prevention that native Americans used to perform, I would agree.

I was never able to get into Dwarf Fortress, but that’s awesome that there’s a rogue like mode coming out!
I actually own Returnal on PS5 but never gave it much of a thought. It sounds like it’s worth trying though!

That’s way harder than what I do, but I’m lucky enough to have access to a flat bed scanner. I just print it out, and then scan it at every angle. That way when I email the scanned photos to myself I have all the angles at once.

- Comment on Why do the majority of women still take their partner's last name? 5 months ago:
I took my husband’s last name because it was important to him, and I wasn’t super attached to mine. Also, it has 2 Z’s in it, and that’s one of the coolest letters.
