Ah, yes. My mistake, did not read the entire wikipedia article there for sardonic grin.

Huh. I was thinking Aconitum species when they mentioned carrots.
Sardonic grin just mentions strychnine poisoning, which comes from a tree.
- Comment on "looks inside, individually packaged" 10 months ago:
blistering machines used in the pharmaceutical industry usually work with some standard sizes, hence the size of the blister. change parts also cost a small fortune, so it makes no sense to have them tailored for just one product if it works well enough with existing equipment. thay being said, a couple of things below in reply to the whole thread, not just yourself.
to add to the list of reasons one would want them individually packaged, it’s easier to dispense a set amount of pills in this manner, for medicine that needs to be tailored for each user more often (think if you need 5 capsules, you’d get a blister that is weirdly cut by the pharmacist with a pair of scissors - cutting the blister also removes important information like lot number and expiry date). also, it could have some stability issues outside of the blister, so dispensing them naked in bottles might not be the best thing.
for antibiotics and such, it’s also crucial to take each and every dose prescribed so dropping one in the sink accidentally when you’re shaking a bottle is something you’re trying to prevent. the size of the blister would also make it harder to lose around the house or one’s backpack/bag/purse/saddlebags/bag of holding and then not taking your last dose (in addition to the change parts thing mentioned at the start).
individually wrapped bananas are a waste. for critical things like pharmaceuticals, there is more likely than not a good reason for this. look up pharmacovigilance if curious to know more.
- Comment on Is it safe to use pans with peeling nonstick coating? 11 months ago:
Huh, I always thought pineapples and tomatoes were canned in non-aluminium tins that also have a coating on the inside to prevent corrosion. Them tins don’t really feel as soft as a beer or soda can.

Isn’t Ireland not a Schengen state just because of the Common Travel Area with the UK?
- Comment on Demand to reverse Brexit hits ‘highest ever level’ 1 year ago:
It’s ok, I’m sure Austria and The Netherlands will have UK’s back and just veto their Schengen joining ad infinitum for no apparent reason. As for the Euro, the UK can just pull a Sweden or purposefully maintain a highly variable exchange rate so as not to fulfill the requirements for joining the Eurozone.
Alternatively, pull a Denmark and peg it to the Euro and do some voodoo with interest rates when it’s in danger of changing parity outside the agreed upon limits. (Not sure if this is what pre-Brexit UK did?)
- Comment on Is a Lemsip Max just a paracetamol? 1 year ago:
Yes, as others have said, it’s paracetamol with some other stuff.
Something I’ve not seen mentioned yet however is to please be mindful that these do contain it and try to not take additional paracetamol (say, in tablet form) without watching your dose. Paracetamol overdose leads to some very nasty effects. Be careful not to exceed the daily dose of paracetamol, as stated in the product insert.

My bad, I have interpreted it as apologetic for the people yelling at Larian for ‘ruining it’ for everyone.
I agree that we should not expect this sort of quality from everything, after all Gauss’ curve applies universally and this is quite far from the mean as I see it. We would just maybe like… less shite.
But it’s not like Larian are the first to raise the bar. I remember the days when Blizzard was an awesome company. Then I remember Bethesda being awesome. Now it’s Larian on the spotlight. I may not have followed the news back when the others were good, but I don’t remember such attitudes around as mentioned in the original post, to basically discredit instead of leaving it alone.

So the answer is for the ones who make nice things because of a nice system they have to just stop because the other crabs can’t get out of the bucket. Maybe their beef should be with their idiot boss, not with the guys who do the work.
Whatever happened to companies learning from other’s successes instead of trying to keep others down?

Why stop at religious people? Most people probably wouldn’t be able to go back to their lives after discovering there’s a whole new dimension of things out there and there’s a possibility to travel and see very weird things.
So far we’ve sort of come to terms that we’re alone in the universe and the great void is unexplorable. But what if it isn’t? Wouldn’t everyone just want to go out and do some Firefly-grade shit? How would one just go back to performing risk assessments for insurance companies after learning that?
