My favorite series is disgaea, but I wouldn’t recommend it to most people, it’s over the top game breaking silliness.
Chroma-squad is often overlooked, but captures a lot of what name 90s trpg’s great and improves on the formula quite a bit.
The absolute best trpg imo is “bionic dues”, I feel like it you enjoyed into the breach you should definitely give bionic dues a shot, it’s such a different style of game,
- Comment on Is it weird I sleep with an old blanket I've had since I was a young girl? 1 week ago:
I’m closer to 40 than 35, and my wife recently gave up ever replacing “college blanket”, which was actually bought for me in early high school after I asked if I could take my grandparents comforter home with me. They found one and got it for me that Christmas (I think it was Ross/home goods), it was probably the most generic comforter ever, I always thought I’d be able to find another when needed. After 2 cats, a dog and the better part of 2 decades, my wife decided it was time to let it go and get a replacement, no problem, it’s the most generic comforter ever. She gets me a nice duvet, so we can keep the inside nice and replace the outside as needed, nope definitely not the same. She gets a comforter, it’s stitched way too tightly, and doesn’t breathe the same (okay maybe a 20 year old blanket has gained a bit of aeration, maybe it breathes better than it did when it was new, but you can definitely tell the padding is stitched much more tightly than college blanket’s ever was), she got me a “cooling” comforter, it’s decent, but paired best with college blanket, and when I only have 1 blanket 9 times out of 10 it’s college blanket.
Now college blanket has had 5 cats and 3 dogs and the majority of my life, it’s been the bed of desire for multiple animals, myself included, and my wife sometimes asks for it when she’s sick. Apparently it’s really scratchy, and holey, and it’s closely missing about 20% of it’s original fluff, and I would put it away in a place of honor in a heartbeat if I could find a new one. I swear it was 40 dollars at a home goods store, in a pile with a hundred others just like it, but we’ve looked for the better part of a decade now, and it’s been deemed irreplaceable. It would probably be the first material thing I went for if we had to evacuate. I’m not highly sentimental, but you don’t let a good blanket go.

38, just lost the 12 year old 267k miles car to an idiot my age in a brand new muscle car who was immediately on the phone to Daddy. It was one of the few things of value I had to my name. Was hoping to get 400k out of it. Instead I get a new car payment that I have no idea how I’m going to cover.
The times are rolling, I’m not sure they’re good.

I want to posit that because water isn’t compressible at forces we experience commonly, it doesn’t mean it isn’t compressible. For 99.999% of the water rules we concern ourselves with water should be considered incompressible, but there are exceptions to every rule
- Comment on Material scientist wet dream 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, it’s been 15 years since I’ve taken oceanography, but the density of water is determined by its temperature.
- Comment on Material scientist wet dream 3 weeks ago:
Along with the people pointing out conductivity.
Who says water is not compressible? Takes a lot of energy, but the big bang didn’t happen in a sea of water.

Man I should’ve read through the comments before I made a reply comment to another person, I could’ve added a source for every one of my “games will complain about X if a sequel is released” just from the comments here.
- Comment on Stardew Valley creator says he might make Stardew Valley 2 1 month ago:
Rebuilding from code up instead of continuously adding to an overburdened foundation, I don’t know why he’d want to start fresh at all. And he can’t just rebuild and re release because the "mod scene"would pitch a fit
- Comment on Stardew Valley creator says he might make Stardew Valley 2 1 month ago:
“gamers” would have a cow if there was ever a sequel seriously discussed. He already charged them once, how dare he charge them again.
I suspect 10-20% of the community would take that stance, even if it’s only a few%, it would absolutely be magnified by the echo chamber and there will be talk or how concerned ape left stardew valley “incomplete” and it’s "abandon-ware"and all future products should be pirated.
- Comment on Streaming Is Now Just As Crowded With Ads As Old School TV 1 month ago:
Disney used to run ads for their other shows on Disney channel, no non-Disney things, but they were still interspersed, that was a child formed in my brain what an ad was to be “anything that delays the content is an ad”. Pedantically FBI warnings and producer logos are ads.
- Comment on Streaming Is Now Just As Crowded With Ads As Old School TV 1 month ago:
Strange, outside of the CBS logo before Paramount Plus things start on Amazon (I hate every noun in that sentence progressively more) I haven’t had an ad in almost a year (from that same subsection of that same platform). Apple put some ads up for other shows of theirs, but made them skippable.
Twitch is probably the worst for ads, I sometimes have to watch one.
As a child of Saturday morning cartoons, ads today aren’t 2% as bad as what we used to endure, and on demand shows (you can watch a series even if your missed the first episode, instead of waiting for the season recap, or entire season re run before the finale), and the ability to watch, and pause, damn near anything, makes the experience at least 50x better, so I’d say we’re about 2000% better off than I remember us being.

So you have an axe to grind because of another sports success?
Or are you here “just asking questions”
- Comment on Why is the NFL draft day so "special"? 1 month ago:
The sheets of paper are getting filled in minutes before they’re announced,
The teams can trade their picks between each other,
It’s not known what teams are going to take what players, if my team (4) thinks team 1 is going to take player A, and team 2 isn’t interested in that player but team 3 is, if team 1 takes player b instead my team might talk with team 2 about trading draft pick positions so we can get that player.
There’s a lot of talking between a lot of professionals representing a lot of teams, the whole situation is very fluid, and it might change the course of your franchise (unless you’re the Jets)
It’s also 3 days of spectacle.
- Comment on Why is the NFL draft day so "special"? 1 month ago:
The draft is being held in your state this year, it’s the first time as far as I can recall, they want to make a good show of it so it might return some day.

The great thing about comic book and videogame “inspired” movies if they come pre-written. This doesn’t sound like they were ever serious about making a series off the IP, I suspect a gacha game will be released from Amazon games.
- Comment on The Triple-i Initiative 2025 - Indie games for 2025 2 months ago:
It definitely had more games! Was very satisfied when the previews ended where they did, would’ve been amazing to have more but it was already so much,
Absolutely 10/10 protection, added a fair number of games to my wishlist, and even bought a couple. And It was fun trying to guess what games were before their titles came up.
Is that deep rock galactic going to be another free content update? At first I thought they were finally integrating what they learned from deep rock galactic survivors (and that would explain why they’ve never thought too long on multiplayer), but that has to be way too much for just a content update, right? Jeez coffee stain continues to knock it out of the park.

Wasn’t this like 40 minutes last year? Damn I’m excited to watch this (especially if it’s like last year’s) but that’s quite a time commitment, maybe over the next couple days.
I think I added half the games from last year to my steam wishlist/follow, unfortunately quite a few are still in development.
