That’s always been my answer, I don’t touch anything unless it’s to switch it to the person who put me in the position to “have to decide” because fuck that guy.

Concerned ape long ago secured a spot as one of the greatest developers ever.
They only seem to reinforce that as a correct selection.
They’re in the highest of echelons with people/companies I’m happy to support.

I haven’t played wordle since they put the “streak tracker” behind a “paywall”, fuck you all that data is shit you’re keeping from me without my consent anyways, now you want me to pay you for the privilege?
I’m not a huge privacy guy, but when you ask me to pay for the data I provide you, you can get bent.
- Comment on If Trump wins the election thru fraud how can the democrats refute it and prove they won? Or will it just be like another Jan 6 and four years of whining like Trump? 2 weeks ago:
You don’t remember the alternative delegates they attempted to send last time? That’s fraud, and there’s no reason they won’t try it again this time

You have not heard of the “contested electors” delegates his party attempted to send in place of the actual delegates last time around?

Can’t wait to see where they go next with this franchise!
I was hesitant to see the first (remake) one, but they did it so well I saw the next one without any hesitation. It was about 85% as good as the first, but that’s more than enough to get me excited for the 3rd!

Go ahead and negative this comment, same as last time a marine biologist called bullshit on a Maine biology comic needing some correction.

GeForce now uses 20 gigs/hour at the highest quality, how are they not just sending the entire video to your screen, what more do they need to send??
- Comment on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 sucks up to 180 Mb/s of internet bandwidth while in flight — equivalent to 81GB of data per hour 5 weeks ago:
Why does the terrain take more (much more) bandwidth than a video stream?
And what the heck do you mean they’re “streaming the terrain” surely it would be a one and done date transfer, much smaller than a live video packet stream, that amount of bandwidth is insane, you could do multiple 4k streams.

Are they streaming it to you??
Wait that would actually take FAR LESS DATA

Yup, went way too far up it’s own ass, and then has the audacity to call itself scientifically accurate.
It’s on the same level as “Donnie Darko” and “don’t look up” to me. Saw it once, rolled my eyes, and have futility lambasted it on the Internet every time it’s brought up.

As a biologist,
We can’t even get the actions of water bears down.
We have the entire genetic code and brain mapping of a fruit fly, and can get, very slow, good guesses about how they respond to very basic stimulus.
Let’s not even get into epigenetics.
I would never downplay the importance or difficulty of psychology.
But I get nothing but kicks on this house of “science” memes.
- Comment on How modern is it to have "sympathetic" portrayals of Hell? 1 month ago:
Why not engage?
I do believe you should watch some more Lucifer, you would probably change your opinion on the portrayal of heaven and hell in it. Heaven is a walled off garden of aspiration for all of the metaphysical beings in the show, and hell is a place of such suffering that the only ones content to be there have never experienced heaven. I don’t believe it matches the characterizations you’re claiming it does, despite having watched an entire episode.
- Comment on How modern is it to have "sympathetic" portrayals of Hell? 1 month ago:
You should watch more Lucifer.
You have a very flawed perception on what’s going on in the good place if you think the actors from “the bad place” are working to get people into heaven, or the reason the people of heaven leave so quickly.
But I’ll bite on what I perceive to be a barely good faith question and not a concern troll post.
When you look at the idea pushed (especially in the last few hundred years) of a dichotomy of infinite joy or infinite suffering, there’s a lot of realism that can be pushed in the gray areas. The absolutist of everything is good because everything is good and everything is evil because everything is evil has been portrayed from the good side for a long time, the somewhere in between that modern media takes from brings things towards the middle on both sides, but concern trolls can’t rationalize heaven to be anything but perfect, so they go on tirades about media they don’t care to look at critically, whenever they feel their absolutist belief of heaven good is analyzed with a modicum of scrutiny.

Sorry, what?? There are no hydro thermal vents at the surface of the ocean???
Fucking biologist needs to go back to school.
There’s no life at hydro thermal vents at the surface of the ocean because there are much safer and more reliable ways to get energy, but there are absolutely areas of active geothermal extremes at the surface of the ocean.
Hell there are hydro thermal vent remnants in the coastal ranges above sea level.

- Comment on Which are the lesser-known movies that are well worth seeing? 1 month ago:
I will preface this with it’s not going to be for either of us to decide, there are plenty people with plenty more intelligence who have debated this topic, according to Wikipedia: “The difficulty in defining the term and subjectivity of what qualifies as a cult film mirror classificatory disputes about art.”
However the general definition according to Google has nothing to do with it’s box office success,
A cult classic is a movie or other work that has a devoted following, but is often not well-known or popular with the mainstream.
Further on,
The definition of a cult classic can be difficult to define, and there are different interpretations. Some definitions include major studio productions, while others focus on more obscure films. Some definitions also exclude films that have been released by major studios, or that have tried to become cult films.
So it’s open to interpretation, and I’m going to stand by my list, and reinforce the notion that even if they are cult classics there’s a good chance someone looking for movies might not have seen some on this list.

(don’t want to edit my post so adding another in the reply)
Another somewhat mainstream movie that was very easily missed, “forward unto dawn”, if you know much about the Halo universe you’ll know this story pretty well, but if you’ve only heard of Halo in passing this is a great place to start (and probably stop unless you’re going to play the games or read the books) the series.

Which is generally defined as a lesser known movie that people consider worth watching?
- Comment on Which are the lesser-known movies that are well worth seeing? 1 month ago:
Rampage, it’s such a good popcorn flick. It’s so over the top that I wouldn’t blame you for writing it off without watching it, but give it a chance, it’s ultimate action silliness.
Cabin in the woods, its a top 2 horror satire, but you may have heard of that one
Tucker and Dale vs evil, maybe watch this one before cabin in the woods, it’s the best horror satire.
Galaxy quest, easily the best star trek movie ever made, one of the top 5 movies ever made.
I’m not sure how many of these are hidden gems, it depends on your viewing habits (not many people would consider horror to contain much good cinema)
