The way it was explained to me, praying to a Saint to speak to God on your behalf is like asking a friend to pray for you. You could just pray to God yourself, but for some reason, having more people pray for you is better.

Chances are, it isn’t. The early Catholic Church did a lot of this kind of thing, where they would claim to have a piece of the cross, or a bone of St Peter in a church. It was just to drive tourism into their churches. If you took all the claimed pieces of the cross and assembled them, it would make far more than one cross.

Hence the rant. It’s sad that men don’t seek to better themselves at the same rate.
Kudos to OP for looking to be the best step-dad he can be!

So… you do something to earn money. And you refer friends to do it too. You earn a portion of your referral’s earnings. And so you need to keep recruiting and having your recruits recruit.

That’s my thought. Although the first two movies are called Beetlejuice and Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
Wait. What just happened?

You could live the rest of your life in that van… which is coincidentally only one night because of carbon monoxide poisoning.

That cow has a very flat side… I’m beginning to think that not everything on the internet is true.

“It’s odd that the word atheist even exists. I don’t play golf. Is there a word for non-golf players? Do non-golf players gather and strategize? Do non-skiers have a word and come together and talk about the fact that they don’t ski?”

Then don’t. I don’t believe in any god. I just don’t call myself an atheist. I’m just not anything. If there was a survey of which religion I belonged to, I just wouldn’t check any box. Then I don’t have to associate myself with any group, I just am.
- Comment on New ‘Star Trek’ Movie in the Works at Paramount from ‘Andor’ Director 5 months ago:
I’ve watched every movie, and every tv show. I’ve read every comic, and 60% of the books. And I love them. But you know why I’m not a Star Wars fan? I love Rogue One.

Them and all the Star Wars fans I hear from.

Slavery would have been abolished 30 years earlier, and we would have had a Parliamentary system. Canada did it right.

The mindset of “this kind of works for us, don’t change it, even if what you have is better” is at the root of most issues with America. Healthcare or Kraft Dinner, American Exceptionalism is damaging.

How fitting then. His whole life is just being a loser with extra steps.

Fat and old with enough money to keep it all together, but not enough self awareness to keep it together well.

7 inches is enough to get you mostly through a doorway.
Doors are about 1.5 inches thick. The average chest depth of an American male is 11.5 inches.
Teleporting yourself 7 inches forward would put a door 7 inches from your front and 3 inches from your back. You would have to only be 5.5 inches deep in order to make it entirely through the doorway without merging with the door.

Not sure it makes the point you want it to make when you compare actors to pigs getting led to slaughter.
- Comment on What is a film whose trailer alone presaged its success? 8 months ago:
Cloverfield. It didn’t even contain the title, just the date. It ended up being the biggest January opening of any movie.

- Comment on Air Canada changed my flight for the 3rd time, I'm now landing in Toronto 1 hour AFTER my next flight departure. 9 months ago:
“Within the airline’s control” is pretty clearly outlined in the law. It’s not a grey area.
The law also states that the new booking must be reasonable. And before you say that “reasonable” is grey, it gives examples of that. Missing the connecting flight would be unreasonable. A refund would be pretty easy to ask for in this circumstance.
- Comment on Air Canada changed my flight for the 3rd time, I'm now landing in Toronto 1 hour AFTER my next flight departure. 9 months ago:
Policy doesn’t matter. The recent law overrides their policy.
_Refunds — If the alternate travel arrangements offered don’t meet your travel needs
If an airline (large or small) offers you alternate travel arrangements that do not meet your travel needs, you are entitled to a refund._
- Comment on Air Canada changed my flight for the 3rd time, I'm now landing in Toronto 1 hour AFTER my next flight departure. 9 months ago:
You’re entitled to a full refund for that at least, but getting it and rebooking a flight that works will be another annoyance.

Star Wars can also learn from Marvel’s mistakes. It can all be avoided. Besides, in my opinion, Star Wars shows have been higher quality than Marvel’s.
