- Comment on I'm locked out of my 6 year old Chipotle account because they now say my email address is invalid when I login. Here is me asking for their help: 1 year ago:
Its quite common on email domains.
I have a .email gTLD and I am frequently told its not a valid domain. Its getting better but apparently many forms only consider .com, .org, .edu etc valid.

It is. You are allowed to download it as it has a trial. But when it’s time to pay the only way is through a logged in account on the Microsoft store.
- Comment on Restaurant Bill 1 year ago:
If anything it’s less steps. You aren’t doing any math or making any judgement calls with a service charge.

shit drives me bonkers. I tried to get the Dolby Atmos plugin. Has to be done on the store, which HAS to be signed into windows. No i dont want any of that. let me buy it from your site and redeem a code or something. I dont want to sign into the store. at all.
I just went with the alternative. Installing the logitech control software, restricting its internet access but using its dolby DTS features.

In a vacuum that would be fine. But in the current culture that likely wouldn’t overcome the tipping standard/culture and may just drive customers away thinking the prices are too high. Unless you have a huge blatant no tipping sign all over the place.
This isn’t too indigestible as it stands provided the wait staff understand they are likely to only get a tip for excellent service.
But to do this on top of an 11 dollar cannoli. That’s a bit different too. I hope it was like a dozen cannolis.

Based on the bottom of the receipt i would have said to the server something like “great, it says right here no need to tip”

Yeah it’s not too bad. Just the dash kit is fairly old and held together by those plastic clip. I always break those things. It’s a juice isn’t worth the squeeze honestly. I actually upgraded my radio a while back to a wireless CarPlay/android auto and mean to ask them to swap em. But forgot.

If my windscreen starts to steam up mid-jourmey, the last thing I need is to take my attention off the road to change the climate settings in the UI where dials and buttons will do the job much faster without needing to take my attention off the road.
This is why ill never get rid of my 2009 Tacoma. Three knob AC controls are the pinnacle of UI engineering. One knob for fan speed, one for temp and the third for vent/airflow selection. The backlight on one of my knobs has burned out at this point, but i dont need it…Can adjust the AC without taking my eyes off the road.
When it was ubiquitous, this meant i could do this in any car. Borrowed my inlaws FORD F-150 once, had to pull over to figure out how to turn off the goddam heat. It had BOTH a touchscreen and series of dash buttons but there were so many it was hard to figure out what did each thing while driving. I also had to update their dang infotainment, it wouldnt work on some random USB device, i had to go get a USB-A 3.0 device to get it to work at all and even then it was idling in my driveway for an hour and a half. Even tried just doing it via WiFi…nope

I’m on an i7-1165g7 and 1070 on windows. 25-30 fps at 1080p.
It’s completely GPU bound. I have a 4060 ti 16 gb in the mail. We’ll see how it plays.
- Comment on [MEGATHREAD] Starfield - Your experiences! 1 year ago:
It took me a hot minute to figure this out.
Also even on low, with fsr up, I’m pulling a whopping 30 fps max with my 1070. My 3060 is dead and I just went ahead and upgraded ahead of the warranty check.
But I had to turn motion blur and film grain back on to make the game even marginally playable. It’s like a new record for how unoptimized it is. Seems specific to nvidia cards.

For all I know the product is in fact shit, but because of their methodology, plus all that they did afterwards, I can’t trust that they would ever produce an honest review of the product.
Or any product for that matter.

Well they screwed that pooch by episode 2 or so then.
- Comment on TIL Mike Judge created Boomhauer's voice based on a disgruntled viewer's voice mail that he couldn't understand. The voice mail was left during the Beavis and Butthead days. Here is a link to that ... 1 year ago:
I didn’t really need a translator (guess that says a bit about me). But in the bra is and butthead days, there weren’t a lot of episodes to choose from and a lot of them weren’t “tame” enough for syndication outside of MTV. So you would see the same 2-4 episodes all over the place.
My guess is that he’s complaining about them just rerunning the same episode constantly.

Well the get formulaic because it made money. Land followed a successful formula. Breaking that and innovating is hard and risky.
Especially if the people making the game don’t understand their core audience.
Dice and EA are perfect examples of that.

They tried. And failed at that with 2042

One of the questions I always have about Lwaxana regarding Picard and Odo is whether she was actually incorrect in her telepathic understanding of their feelings about her.
Well i think i recall a DS9 episode where she admits she cant read changelings minds, so Odo she cant read.
That said…I cant recall if i saw this in shitty daystrom, or if it was a dream. But i have a theory that Picard was unusually resilient to telepathy and able to override emotions above all else for the job. Riker was a horn dog, so no doubt she knew he was honking his horn to her daughter from day 1. But Picard was always a company man, and being a cue ball, probably into some more mature women.
My theory is that she knew the man had some kinks in the closet and likely kept some memories of Lwaxana in his spank bank when wondering what could have been. She picked up on it and decided to fuck with him incessantly throughout the show for it, knowing full well he was a trained company man and would never give into emotions like that, at least when stone sober. But she knew what he whipped it to in the sonic shower, he knew she knew and it became the most dangerous game of chess of him trying to make sure she didnt just blurt it out, while playing icarus and riding as close to the twin stars of her bussom as he could to store it in his spank bank without crossing the line.
As for Odo, i think she couldnt read it (again I think i saw it in an episode) but was able to seduce him to get that changeling d, which she encouraged him to “change it up” to be of a perfect fit. And thus, became quite enamored with his graces.
Those are my running theories.

She also serially sexually harassed Odo on DS9.
