But it’s a greenhouse gases contributor - electric is better. Check that anode commented below.
- Comment on Bill Skarsgård will return as Pennywise in 'It' prequel series 6 months ago:
Quite true, but even with the roles in John Wick, it keeps him in the “sadist/abuser” role in a film. Antagonist vs. Protagonist.
I don’t have any answers either, otherwise I’d rule Hollywood … still, I’d hate to see him get put in that corner for good.
- Comment on Bill Skarsgård will return as Pennywise in 'It' prequel series 6 months ago:
Bill needs to put away these psycho/weirdo roles for a bit and maybe do a romcom or two. He’s seriously going to get typecast.
Then again, Eric Roberts is getting too old now…

All cool on many things, except one:
they seem to love to hate on Apple there
That’s the only thing they’re right about, though. They shouldn’t have banned you for your comment, especially not if it’s true, but Apple DOES suck in nearly every way possible 🤷
To which, all I can say is:
- Comment on Hypersensitive tankie mod 8 months ago:
First off, _ …HEY!_ 🧐
Secondly, this isn’t “Goldmember”. Should I hate other countries? …And who says I’m Dutch? Maybe I’m like Kirk and I only work in The Netherlands.
Thirdly, they seem to love to hate on Apple there. I had the comeuppance to suggest Jen Simmons and the Safari team actually read the bug submissions (and she’s recently been on numerous videos, podcasts, and in posts on Mastadon saying so) and pushed back on their emoji-malarky.
On some instances, opinions other than the admins need not apply.

Oh, I got banished from a whole instance on Mastadon for saying that the Apple Safari team looks at every bug request (and they do):
Little fucking Napoleons will ruin social media, not matter what platform.

First, you have to catch them.
Without plates on the bike, they become anonymous asap.

Wow - selected is just as bad. How about a less bright background, a border or inverting the gun and text?

Who wrote that, AI? If you went to journalism school for that article, feel ashamed.
Aside from the crap story, I’m looking forward to the return of Universal’s monsters.

You think that’s funny… Try living with the Dutch and and their history with the spice islands, and then getting nothing but nutmeg in your food.
- Comment on This is way too expensive for a drink. 11 months ago:
Use low to medium heat - too hot and you can make the concentrates bitter or crystallized. 😉
- Comment on This is way too expensive for a drink. 11 months ago:
Note the € sign - it’ll be nearly as expensive and you’ll only find 2-3 flavors if you’re lucky (US expat in NL)
Op: Brew your own tea and make your own. Or reduce it by half and add it as a concentrate to fizzy water if you need the bubbles. Also, equal parts sugar and water, low heat in a saucepan until reduced by ⅓-½ and you’ve got sugar syrup. That lasts in the fridge forever, and you can make it as sweet or not as you’d like.

Agreed. No idea why you got downvoted; if I wanted ads I’d subscribe to cable and not a streamer who’s also using the ads to track me further.
- Comment on I have to pay extra to remove ads from Prime Video 11 months ago:
Have not seen that in the Netherlands but I’m still dropping it. Haven’t seen anything we enjoyed watching for months (and Prime delivery still takes a week in most cases).
- Comment on How have you personally found the Lemmy community compared to its competition and other social media? 11 months ago:
Or Apple. /c/technology is an Apple hatefest.
You’re spot on - I’m not feeling like I really care about either place these days. Maybe I’ve outgrown social media, especially if the content is high-school level Absolutism.

Wow. 137F? That’s crazy… my wife is Indonesian so we’re moving to Bali, but north on the island where the beaches aren’t great but there’s the sea air to keep you cool. Building a small villa with a pool as well (3m x 8m) for swimming but I still love the beachy vibe of the restaurants and shops along the coast area. Island life - got to love it!
- Comment on This ad that says “Wake up! A beach house is not a dream.” 11 months ago:
Same. Fam had a home on LBI in the Terrace oceanside and the damn sand was fire in July & August. God forbid you tried to walk down onto the asphalt road for the 6 houses up to yours… it was hot and sticky as it would melt and you’d get tar on your feet (walking the curb was sanctuary).

It’s time for a cool, refreshing Pepsi.

- Comment on This toilet paper at my work 1 year ago:
I’ve first encountered one at a big mall in Thailand (Terminal 21) so it does get a bit of traffic. That was 2012, and as of 2022 they were still there, looking pretty original. They can take a beating.
I added one to the home last year. I’ll never go back to plain paper again.
- Comment on New Private Eye just dropped 1 year ago:
I’m not directing it solely at conservatives - more, the status quo. People are weird in that they vote against their interests in fear it’ll get worse, but they ignore that you have to break the grip of the incumbents for any change to happen. That could take several election cycles to clean house.
Good on you for always trying to choose the best option, and not the one habit suggests.
I think the worst thing we as voters do is expect big changes to stick immediately. I think ultimately, it’s going to be a lot of smaller, necessary changes before we can expect big moves to really make it.
After 50 years voting, I feel it’s our impatience for change that tends to scupper any sort of real change, and return the grasp back to the status quo.
- Comment on New Private Eye just dropped 1 year ago:
Do what I do - vote them out at every conceivable level of government until they learn to listen (or fear) the public.
Either would be good.
