Bah, I’ve had it with this game! I’m going for a scuttle.

He’s been dead for a while now. You can get someone else to do the voice, but that might be poor taste.
- Comment on Chrono Trigger Is Timeless 2 weeks ago:
mechanics that penalize you for opening treasure chests too soon.
Unlike all the other chests, the ones that “penalize you” have an event and prompt asking if you want to open them, and in a game about time travel, it’s not too hard to figure out what’s intended.

- Comment on Gaming has a polarization problem 3 weeks ago:
People generally don’t talk too much about stuff that things that don’t particularly stand out. If a game is bad, people will complain. If a game is good, people will praise it. If a game is middling, most people will just move on. Nobody’s going to start a discussion about a game that was vaguely enjoyable but not noteworthy, unless expectations were unreasonably high to begin with.

If you buy a dinged or damaged can, you can often get a discount on it if you ask. They may or may not be safe to eat, and it’s hard to tell until you open it.
- Comment on Anon finds a new way to get protein 1 month ago:
It’s part of the process of canning. The cans must be heated to kill all bacteria inside, otherwise anaerobic bacteria can reproduce in the can and cause nasty diseases like botulism.
- Comment on Anon finds a new way to get protein 1 month ago:
It’s already cooked in the can

- Comment on I don't think they understand. We're interviewing them too. 2 months ago:
I disagree. They’re important for me to know if I want to keep pursuing this job opportunity or if I should stop wasting our time. I don’t want to do a second or third interview only to find out afterwards about all these factors. I could be out there interviewing for other jobs in the meantime, not in a second interview at this shitty company that doesn’t want to tell me how shitty it is until they’ve offered e the job.

Dead Cells is 50% off on GOG right now.
If you enjoyed Hades, you might like the new Ninja Turtles game, Splintered Fate. It’s definitely a bit more than “inspired by” Hades. Doesn’t quite hit the same, but it’s still a good time.

I mean nobody wants to admit they eat 2500 pies, but I did and I’m ashamed of myself. The first pie doesn’t count and then you get to the second, and the third. The fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blow torch and I just kept eating.

- Comment on Anon needs cooking advice 4 months ago:
This is the best way of getting sauces to stick as well. The concentrated pasta water left over at the end is great for making mac and cheese for example. Much better than a few teaspoons of pasta water from a large pot as is usually recommended.

Same here. Evolution doesn’t work that way. It’s basically the opposite. Species don’t evolve to solve a problem, they evolve randomly and sometimes that solves a problem for them. Or sometimes, it pushes the species into a very narrow niche where its survival is ensured as long as the current extremely precarious situation they find themselves in doesn’t change.
- Comment on Windows 7 and 8 now dead for gaming, as new Steam update pulls support 4 months ago:
It runs fine on Linux.
It’s true that most people wouldn’t know, and probably wouldn’t look that far into things before buying a game. Fortunately Steam’s refund policy is pretty good for this kind of situation.
