I’ve been pondering about responding to you. Since I can’t see this as some sort of irony - here goes.
I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. The shadow in your example would be bound by the speed of light, because the photons from the source of light are also bound by it.
A shadow is just a lack of photons on a surface surrounded by other photons.

Oh, it’s not my friend. I’m just a lemmy passer by :)
All I’m saying is - being an asshole does not have a prerequisite of losing your temper. On top of that - some people ask for it.
In OP’s example the other side is wasting time. That is one thing I do not tolerate.
As to people not being nice - what about the time waster? Is he nice? Is it nice? I feel like people are sticking to words too much and actions too little.
- Comment on Anon is in hell 5 months ago:
I don’t see where the temper is lost there. I can say yout reading conprehension is non-existant at best, or you simply can’t read at worst; none of that would be uncontrolled temper. It is very much pointing things out without sugarcoating.

- Comment on StarCraft could return, according to Blizzard president, but not necessarily as an RTS 7 months ago:
that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be an RTS, and whatever shape it takes will depend on the person or team who goes to bat for it.
So… it’s not Starcraft, then. It’s just another game.

- Comment on Game wikis just aren't as popular anymore? 9 months ago:
Thank you. I’ve been dabbling with the idea of establishing a non-profit for my lemmy instance. I’m not a user of game/movie/etc wikis, but I do love looking after my servers. I wonder if a non-profit owned wiki site bear any weight over time.

Probably. That will depend on whether instance B is federated to instance C. The home instance of a post is what defines federation policy.

I agree with the general idea or the article that restricting kids’ play is stupid, but the author seems to be a bit of a moron himself:
Want a solution to the rights of children not getting upheld? Give pre-teenage kids the vote. I’d go with 10 years old, others say as young as six.
Not only is this dumb, it completely ignores the idea of parental responsibility - it’s the parents who must look after the interests of their kids.
Such hot takes make the whole article immediately dismissable.

- Comment on Most motorists want noise cameras installed to clamp down on loud cars 10 months ago:
In general I wouldn’t mind people having the freedom to make their cars impossible to sit any reasonable amount of time inside, but I don’t currently have a suggestion on how to make certain peeps be not assholes in residential areas.
In regards to WRC - isn’t that world rally championship? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one happening anywhere near apartment buildings on single lane streets with cars parked on both sides and kids’ playground nearby.

Nothing really sounds loud out of the factory. It’s always the peashooters with custom exhaust.
