You’re not being oppressed by having to use the train.

The only times I’ve had fun in pvp games/modes was when I was playing with a group of people I knew.
Thinking about it you’re sort of right, in that I enjoy playing stuff like Smash Bros and Mario Kart with my friends, but even then I have no interest in competing, I just find ways to annoy everyone else. I might win as a side effect of being annoying, but I’m just asking likely to be hoisted by my own petard, and I consider both good results.

Not really, I always preferred stuff that involved a group. The closest I get is board and card games, but they have an element of randomness that takes away the individual competition and makes it more of a social activity.

I have a strong preference for co-operative games, so I don’t really understand the attraction of non-team based PvP games like battle royales, extraction shooters, or just straight death matches like in quake or CoD. Like why would you want to be cold and alone with everyone out to get you when you could have friends.

I found the timing really difficult too, so I found a mod that slightly increases the dodge/parry window (something like 0.2s to 0.3s for parries) and suddenly I could reliable dodge and parry most attacks. Still requires precise timing, but now it’s a precise timing I can actually hit.

Well yeah, because there are claims that happened in the same way there are claims that aliens built the pyramids: it’s completely imagined and based on no actual evidence.

Avowed and Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon are the most Skyrim-like games I’ve seen recently, but I can’t speak for their quality. Dragon’s Dogma would be an ideal fit but it’s 3rd person.

Wow yeah making yourself look real smart here. Take your own advice.
- Comment on Hexbear is incapable of understanding hypocrisy 2 weeks ago:
Do you have a humiliation fetish or something?
- Fact 1: Hexbear was originally forked from Lemmy
- Fact 2: Dessalines and Nutomic later merged Hexbear’s changes back into lemmy.
- Fact 3: Shit.sorta.works runs on the current version of Lemmy, which contains Hexbear’s changes.
- Fact 4: You do not have to pay Hexbear to use Lemmy
This is about knowledge, not intellect, and you know nothing.

No, I’m pointing out you’re objectively incorrect, you can’t just go “but they’re soooo crraaaaaazy!” and pretend it validates your opinion you stupid little child.
- Comment on Hexbear is incapable of understanding hypocrisy 2 weeks ago:
Hexbear was a fork of Lemmy that was merged back into the main build, which sh.it.just.works runs on. You are using their cloned software for free right now. That’s obviously not their issue.
- Comment on What gaming console you owned disappointed you the most and why ? 2 weeks ago:
Red Steel was a release title, meant to showcase the Wii as a serious console for adults as well as a family friendly console for kids, but I’m pretty sure it, MadWorld, and No More Heroes were the only remotely gorey games for it.

Red Steel or Mad World?
- Comment on Palestine Action Activists to Be Sentenced As Terrorists in Move Kept Secret From Jury and Public 2 weeks ago:
It’s being done because otherwise there’s no way for the government to reimprison them, which makes them look weak on terrorism after the furore they’ve already created about PA. They’ve already spent two years in prison pretrial, which counts triple towards a future prison sentence if they’re found guilty. None of them can actually be put away for more than 6 years even if they’re found guilty, so unless the government finds a way to increase the sentencing every single activist will walk free from court regardless of the result.

Even though you don’t have to for all acids, it’s good practice to always add acid to water just in case you grab the wrong acid.

They don’t have to be devoid of love, you can put as much cheese as you want on.

Sure, but I can grab a can of beans and some bread on the way home then cook and eat them in all of 20 minutes. They’re not something you make because you enjoy cooking, they’re just cheap, quick, easy, and filling.

Oh, you’ll find it easy then, Linux is a walk in the park next to console firmware. Steam pretty much takes care of itself, and GOG is a little more complex but is largely handled by Heroic Games Launcher. Do check ProtonDB with regards to your favourites - generally it’s only online games with kernel level anticheat that won’t work at all with Linux, but there are a handful of others that aren’t working yet - but personally I haven’t had to do anything more than change the proton version in the steam settings to get a game working. Well, except Helldivers 2, but I’m pretty sure that’s a cursed tangle of code that crashes on all operating systems.
- Comment on Anon goes back to Windows 10 3 weeks ago:
I was in a similar position to you and honestly there’s very little to it. It’s probably technically best to start with something really easy like Mint, but you can pretty much choose one at random and as long as you use the KDE desktop environment it’ll mostly look and act like windows. You should be prepared to try out a few different distros depending on your needs and/or preferences, but everything is so streamlined that you only need a little bit of computer knowledge to switch.

If you talk about Philip the Greek in the UK on the other hand, it absolutely does not refer to Alexander the Great.
