- Comment on Is there really no poll function on Lemmy? 2 weeks ago:
There was a grant in the 2024 NLNet funding round for Lemmy, specifically mentioning polls:
Poll support (3500€)
SourceDon’t know if that grant still stands, but someone with the skills could implement polls and earn some money.
- Comment on 1 year into navidrome with dilligent tagging and rating, and this is how someone has the perfect theme song when they walk into a room, everytime. 3 weeks ago:
Thanks for mentioning all the software you use. I just started filling up my library for navidrome and haven’t gotten to plugins yet. Spindle looks very good.
Ratings wouldn’t work for me, because I listen to completely different music at different times of the day. I can’t stand loud, aggressive music in the morning so I listen to Jazz/Soul/Instrumental Hip Hop beats/Classic Piano. At noon I would be bored by the music I listen to in the morning, time for Hardcore/Punk/Japanese Metal/Hyperpop/DnB/anything goes. A noon song would receive 1 star in the morning and vise versa.

I wish more search engines would implement something like this.

Have a look at the Gemini protocol. Has nothing to do with Google’s AI, it’s a protocol mainly for text. No JavaScript, no CSS, just Gemtext.

Disclaimer: I used an AI tool (DeepSeek) to polish grammar and wording only. All opinions, testing, and conclusions in this review are my own.
Hi, I’ve read this statement a couple times now. These are my five cents: Your grammar doesn’t have to be perfect, your spelling doesn’t have to be perfect, your text doesn’t have to be perfect. I’ll always prefer human written text with small little errors over AI-corrected text. English isn’t my first language and I probably make errors here and there, but these can lead to funny little mistakes, maybe new words and never before read sentences get created. Human language is beautiful, despite or because of it’s errors. Have a nice day.

- Comment on Why do you post here or other social media? 2 months ago:
I want this place to be active, so I post things that might be relevant to others. And the little dopamine boost if I notice that something I posted received some upvotes is nice as well.
Everytime I think there’s nothing going on here, I post something myself. Or if the posts I see are mostly negative, I’ll post something positive. Be the change you want to see.
