Can you actually do this or are you speaking out of your ass?

I remember when I was in uni, living on-campus in a student dorm. Living conditions were not great, the rooms were small and they stuffed 3 or 4 guys in each room. We each had a bed, a chair, a tiny wardrobe, a shelf and half a desk. No fridge. Each fall, when we got back to school, there was an effervescent market for old used refrigerators. Everybody was buying and selling fridges for the first 1 or 2 weeks. One year we bought a 50 year old Zil fridge made in the USSR in the 60’s. We paid like €10 for it. It was heavy as hell and we had to carry it up the stairs to the 4th floor. The thing made a loud, continuous buzzing which helped drown out one of our colleague’s thunderous snoring. We loved it. I don’t remember what happened to it or who got to keep it after we disbanded, but I’m sure it still works.

I wish for a viable third party and they don’t meaningfully exist.
You and me both.
I don’t hold my breath for Linux phones ever taking off. They’d need a major player backing them to break the duopoly. Apple and Google won’t let a third player enter the market. Samsung tired at least 2 times and failed. Microsoft was squeezed out. If they couldn’t do it, no one can. We can only hope that one of the big two does something really stupid one day and basically dig their own grave.

I don’t have one. But if I want to degoogle, I’m not giving them my money from the get-go. Are there no more phones with unlockable bootloaders on the market? No more custom ROMs?

I don’t get GrapheneOS apologists. If you hate Google so much, how come you all have Pixel phones?

Don’t search for “sqrt girls”, you’ll be gravely disappointed.

This is why I like KDE Plasma. Just shake the mouse and watch the cursor get bigger.

It’s never too late. As long as you have bootstraps, you can use them to pull yourself up.
- Comment on Alex Kurtzman On Starting Discussions With Paramount Skydance Over The Future Of Star Trek TV 5 weeks ago:
I’ve also given up on the franchise. We’ve had our TNG, DS9 and VOY, but enough is enough. We’ve had a good run. I’ve only watched the new stuff because of the Star Trek branding, but it sure didn’t feel like Trek. Except for SNW (which respects the old formula for the most part) and LD (which is just meta humour that non-trekkies wouldn’t enjoy), the newer series were just mediocre sci-fi at best. It’s tiring and every time I put on a new episode I feel like I’d rather be doing something else. It feels like trying to give a crap about all the pokemon that came after the original 151.
