I’m not exactly sure if this is what you mean, but I have a couple examples of fantastic community powered fan games that arguably eclipse their inspiration.
Pokemon Infinite Fusion: fan powered remake of Pokemon Fire Red that incorporates a fusion mechanic and has something like 600,000 high quality fan created sprites. They’re now working on a version for Pokemon Emerald
Clone Hero: fan made guitar hero/rockband clone with support for tons of peripherals including drums and vocals, with a huge library of fan generated songs.

Between Humble Bundles and Fanatical I’ve got more games than I can play in a year for less than a single new release. It’s amazing.
- Comment on PlayStation Store Dynamic Pricing Is Real 1 week ago:
You could have just said you don’t know what dynamic pricing means.
Here’s the low down: Dynamic pricing is when a company charges different prices for different people at the same time, potentially based on the individuals spending history. So customer A who rarely buys full priced games might be offered a discount, while consumer B who regularly buys full priced games is charged full price.

I’m telling you it’s medically meaningless. Decongestants are decongestants. They aren’t ‘cold’ medicines or ‘allergy’ medicines. They act on inflammation in the nose and reduce congestion. How it’s advertised doesn’t make a bit of difference to what the medicine does.

It’s the same thing, you’re getting caught up on a meaningless distinction.
- Comment on The Star Wars Outlaws flop - Guillemot blames waning interest in the franchise 8 months ago:
Don’t give him credit for TFA. That film set the entire trilogy up for failure with its opening crawl. There was no future for the sequels as soon as he decided to make a shitty ANH remake.
- Comment on The Star Wars Outlaws flop - Guillemot blames waning interest in the franchise 8 months ago:
It’s both, people don’t draw inspiration from just one thing. It’s also Hidden Fortress, but that doesn’t make the WW2 elements any less relevant. Star Wars is about the fight against fascism and imperialism in many forms.

How is Star Wars even remotely grimdark? That’s just a wild criticism.
And the game you’re talking about literally has no Jedi or Sith at all, it’s entirely about the regular people of the galaxy.

4chan runs ads like any other site. I mean it’s mostly stuff that wouldn’t be allowed on most sites, sex toys and whatnot, but this seems right up that alley. I doubt they’re talking about organic posts.

Yeah I absolutely do not care about that. I also won’t bother to get a 4k TV until I get some banger clearance deal or something because it does not fucking matter. I grew up on tube tvs dude, anything that isn’t fuzzy is golden. Most of what I’m playing is either indie or ancient, and seeing giant pixels in perfect clarity does nothing to improve the experience.

That’s fair, it is streaming only at the moment. I had honestly forgotten, I don’t play much that really needs perfect latency, so I’ve just been enjoying streaming on mine for months now.

You want access to games or services that are either better or only available on Windows without having to deal with the desktop Windows interface. That is literally the reason to buy it. Game Pass and popular live services can woo plenty of people over.
What would that be exactly? Gamepass already works great on linux, it’s a better experience on my steam deck than fighting with my windows laptop.
It seems like the main audience is people who are scared of Linux and just don’t want to learn something new.

Nah, I’ll just keep gaming on a cheap Linux PC and fuck ever buying a console again. Honestly at this point a 5 year old GPU gives you access to 99% of all games ever made, why spend so much to play 4 shitty ‘AAAA’ games a year?
