I’ve already read your whole comment. It’s not comparing apples to oranges.

I don’t think that’s true, the faces are different. One is higher than the other, different beards, slightly different head tilt, etc

Exactly my point - And public help forums should be indexed, and should not be on Discord.
- Comment on Discord will restrict your account next month unless you scan ID or face 1 week ago:
It is not comparing apples to oranges, there are many companies that use Discord as a direct replacement to help forums or product wikis.

People misuse and misattribute Wikipedia sources all the time. source

What’s wrong with good old fashioned data base backed message forums? There are so many implementations available, I’m sure many are FOSS, and I’m sure there’s managed solutions as well. It’s a mature, tested, rock solid reliable technology that has existed pretty much since the inception of the internet, and can be easily incorporated into other tools and workflows - because there is 40+ years of development work with the concept.
Seriously, why?

I hear you, but what about: it actually will be used for those things?

I think bolt cutters are faster though

I’m actually pretty happy that Discord is killing itself. Far too many people use it as an official platform for stuff like help forums.
Maybe lets go back to basic message boards that are actually searchable, etc.

What the hell are you talking about? The statement “Native Americans use the Three Sisters in the past” is a 100% correct statement. Just because it isn’t as precise as you want it to be doesn’t mean it’s not accurate
- Comment on Start-up idea 1 week ago:
True, but that may be indicative of other safety issues that are not as obvious.
- Comment on Praise Be 1 week ago:
Also, if the Biblical god existed, supporting or worshiping it would be an incredibly immoral thing to do. Yahweh is perhaps the most vile and evil character in all of literature. It’s hard to imagine anything more evil.
- Comment on Praise Be 1 week ago:
No need, it’s already part of it and has been for centuries.
Remember how the Catholic church raped kids and protected pedophiles? It’s not just Catholicism.

I have an old Radio from the 50s - big wooden piece of furniture with a turntable and everything. The plug on that thing is absolutely terrifying, super flimsy and so small you have to almost touch the prongs to plug it in.
- Comment on it's true 1 week ago:
No it is not.
One person is talking about the past. The other person is talking about the present
- Comment on it's true 1 week ago:
And thus is not a correction. It’s an added detail at best, or at least a change of topic. It’s not a corretion
- Comment on Man posts his incorrect opinion online 1 week ago:
No, this map is reductive at best. Mostly it’s just complete bullshit though.
You can actually just color in a map any way you want and claim the colors mean things, and odds are there are people out there that will believe you.
- Comment on So how would you handle this? 1 week ago:
“Should” is a pretty big risk considering the consequences
- Comment on it's true 1 week ago:
Ok, so it wasn’t even an added detail. It was changing the topic to present day instead of the past.
- Comment on it's true 1 week ago:
It’s not wrong.
We all learned how categories like this work in school - squares are rhombuses but rhombuses aren’t necessarily squares. It’s weird that some people would argue like against that.
- Comment on it's true 1 week ago:
It is true that Native Americans used the 3 Sisters. Which ones? Those specific tribes, apparently.
- Comment on it's true 1 week ago:
That’s not a correction, that’s an added detail.

You can get a lot of hamburgers from a cow, but only two breasts from a chicken.
That means for every two chicken breasts you eat, one chicken dies.

My gas stove has one really big burner for when you need extra heat, and one really small burner for super low heat. It’s pretty nifty.

Yes, there are induction stoves.
These use magnets (how do they even work?) to heat the pan directly, instead of heating an element which then conducts heat into the pan. Since they don’t rely on resistive heating, they can actually be controlled in a much more precise manner. Maybe under the hood this actually involves cycling of the heat, but the result is something that for all intents and purposes “maintains temperature” You can only use pans made of certain metals, which is the main drawback besides expense. No aluminum

Being cheap is a big part of it.
But also, gas is a superior cooking medium to any but the most high quality electric cooktops. Gas is instantly responsive, whereas induction heating elements take time to cool off and heat up.
When I was younger living in apartments, I had some really shitty electric stoves. Terrible consistency, hotspots, took forever to heat up and stayed hot for ages. - Comment on wisdom 1 month ago:
