- Comment on What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing? 1 day ago:
I do challenges for the fun of doing them, not for the reward.
Dark Souls at level 1 is absolutely worth doing if you’re replaying the game. It’s a lot of fun, and much easier than you’d think during your first time playthrough.
Surprisingly enough, playing Getting Over It 50 times over for the achievement is one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had. The skill curve is just awesome to experience, my time dropped from 18h all the way down to 10 minutes.
Challenge not worth doing : all achievements on Rayman Legends. The game itself is amazing, but to get the last achievement you need to play daily procedural levels for MONTHS unless you’re a god at the game (and I’m pretty sure the top times are always cheated anyway, so you’re never getting the highest point reward anytime ever)

Incredible. Clearly they have learnt something from OSRS being more popular than the main game, I hope they stick the landing.
Having no nostalgia for either, I must say both games are amazing (after hundreds of hours as an adult in both). RS3 has some amazing quests, overall I’d say better than OSRS.
But RS3’s game loop was just kinda bad. So while I prefer its quests, I don’t really enjoy the moments to moment gameplay ; which means in the end OSRS is way more fun, because its quests are only a little bit worse, and its gameplay is light years ahead (specifically because it is literally years behind 🥲 and therefore has none of the “modern” nonsense)
I’m VERY glad for the cosmetics toggle. I’m also glad TH is gone ; it made it so anything besides Ironman wasn’t worth playing (but I don’t really care for non-ironman gameplay so take it with a grain of salt)

I’ve been looking at it from afar and it’s nice to see some people trying to innovate upon the Minecraft formula ; though in this case I think the Hypixel people and I enjoy different things about Minecraft.

Exactly what I was thinking.

To be fair, I game on a 2011 TV with 25ms latency. The rest of my hardware is really good and fast, but the screen probably hurts my performance a bit ; I’m looking into a replacement.

My main issue these days is :
- I am so far below the average level in FPS games that despite SBMM, I am systematically the worst or second worst player in the match, so I get relentlessly stomped on with no chance to improve.

- Comment on Do you preorder games? 3 weeks ago:
I preorder Indie games, because even if they turn out to be crap I want them to make another one and get better at it !
I relentlessly fuck over AAA publishers by buying keys on resellers, and I have no remorse about it.

There’s a difference between citron and lemon ? As a french speaker this is very confusing, I thought “citron” was just our word for “lemon”

Oh great, so now even IF the Sims 5 comes out, I have a moral obligation not to buy it…
- Comment on Epic boss Tim Sweeney thinks stores like Steam should stop labelling games as being made with AI: 'It makes no sense,' he says, because 'AI will be involved in nearly all future production 1 month ago:
If that actually happens and the label becomes redundant, then we can talk about removing it.
Or better, inverting it to a “No AI” label for the people like me who will still care.
Tech bros always act like this : they don’t want to actually win by making a good solution. Instead they try to make you feel like their solution is inevitable and they have already won…
For a group of people who claim to be all about meritocracy and the “marketplace of ideas”, they sure like to short circuit those whenever possible…
- Comment on Settings you believe ANY game should have? (This is me advocating for a restart/reboot button on ALL games) 1 month ago:
Ray Tracing is still not good enough and needs “de-noising” which basically just blurs the image.
DLSS is also absolutely horrible for blur. I would rather have a clear pixelated image than an upscaled mess. (And AMD superFX is barely any better)
- Comment on Settings you believe ANY game should have? (This is me advocating for a restart/reboot button on ALL games) 1 month ago:
A combined off switch for TAA, Ray Tracing, DLSS, frame generation, and all of that nonsense.
I hate that games now turn to soup when in motion, even with motion blur off.

Games you can’t pause. I love Dark Souls, but PLEASE give me a real pause button !
I’m okay with the inventory not pausing, that’s part of the game design. I’m not okay with the fact I can’t pause at all, so if my neighbour rings for their spare key when I’m fighting Kalameet I just have to die 🤷🏻♀ (true story btw)

Every game has controller remapping with Steam ! But the on-screen hints might get mighty confusing 😅

Real glad I can soon ditch the DualSense Edge and its only half-functional gimmicks !
I will miss the adjustable triggers, but I will NOT miss the randomly incorrect button mappings, and “extra buttons” that get fucked up if you ever connect it to an actual PS5

Yes but which index ? The headset alone is 540€, but the full VR Kit is 1080€
Dont get me wrong, I’m still going TK buy it if IR costs 1080€, but I will be annoyed, and very sad for all the kids who will still have to sell their soul to Meta for a while…
I really hope it’s ~500€

If Valve went DRM free like GOG, I would have no reason to ever buy games anywhere else
(apart from exclusives, which should be illegal IMO)
- Comment on Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026] 2 months ago:
That is a bit of a shame, I was excited to see the Steam Frame controllers simply use AA batteries.
I wish more things used those, or maybe some new standard with more energy density. Swapping batteries immediately is one thing I miss from the Wii days…
