Good, good, good! Film your faces while you violate those cute clankers. Gives me maybe a bit of time to react when Skynet becomes sentient and goes after them first.

Yes and Christie Mack.
Not so funfact: i believe her boyfriend was the guy who punched himself over tcp/ip. Not fun because he punched her too on a different occasion.

Happy to hear its working out for you without any issues. Your experience is valid as mine. But hearing that a normie distro like ubuntu has quality issues proofs my point. :D

I dont think so. Maybe once? I dont remember all the distros i tried over the years. As i said it even happened with ubuntu on a thinkpad were i made it a point to do no funky shit at all.
Currently i’m running CachyOS and do lots of funky shit. Fair game. But only because i know i just can roll back if something breaks.

Well, i made the final switch to linux myself last year and i’m pretty happy all things considered. But while a lot of things improved over the last 10 years some deal breakers are still around. In my case: just this week an update broke my desktop enviroment entirely for the SECOND time since august. I couldnt even log in. Yeah, i had automatic back ups and the issue was solved in 5 minutes.
But thats not my point. Every single linux install i had going since 2012 fucking died on it itself at some point because of an update. On three different thinkpads, three different tower PCs, running like 6 or 7 different distros. On some of these thinkpads i literally only used the browser to watch youtube and shitpost for months. Nothing else. Didnt touch the console once and never ran some random c&p command i didnt understand. Didnt install anything else. Also i used normie distros like ubuntu and the like. Still every single time at some point an update killed the entire GUI/OS. In the past i just switched back to Windows.
Now Windows is so bad that i learned to deal with this shit. Maybe i’m unlucky. Maybe i’m stupid. But this is just a constant for me in the linux experience. IDK how i could recommend Linux to my normie friends/family. I let massgrave run for them for LTSC or extended support stuff. Done, and i will probably never hear a thing about that OS/PC again. Linux? Nah, i’m good. I dont have the time to do first level support for them if something breaks.

- Comment on ‘I think the franchise is dead’: Saints Row design director says IP owner ‘ghosted’ his prequel pitch | VGC 2 weeks ago:
The first Saints Row was a gritty street-level crime drama and only escalated to its signature ridiculousness after the Boss took over in 2.
Statements like this give me always a sensible chuckle. Compared to the rest of the franchise the first one is pretty grounded. Thats true. But it still is such a goofy game with over the top comedy. The very first cutscene is so stupid already. As is everything else. It still is GTA parody. ‘gritty street-level crime drama’ lmao

More like Arsetechnica, am i right?
Uh, oh. Since this is on beehaw: Sad to see. While i havent read arstechnica regularly for quite a bit i still had them rated as a somewhat trusted publication in my mind. Not anymore, i guess. And yes, i single AI related “incident” is enough for me to be put in the “untrusted” category.

- Comment on Bethesda x Nintendo Switch™ 2 — Oblivion, Fallout 4, and Indiana Jones Coming to Switch 2 5 weeks ago:
tbf someone could have bought it 15 years ago for the 360 and now for a second time for portable gaming because they own a switch 2. that would be imho totally fine(except for the horrible pricing and buggy state of the game, but in general…). the comical part is how often bethesda rereleased this title already. but as you say there seem to be enough people which just rebuy skyrim again and again and again. somehow bethesda just doesnt need to develop another game for one of the biggest gaming franchises.
ps yeah, bought skyrim once on a steam sale 10 years ago. :D

- Comment on Forza Horizon 6 - Official Gameplay Teaser Trailer 1 month ago:
FM3 onwards these games were full of DLCs, special editions, VIP status for faster progression, live service content, fomo mechanics, gambling, etc pp
The “story”, “writing” and “characters” are also painfully bad. Cutscenes arent skippable. You can mute those bland corporate written assholes though.
Gameplaywise it isnt a nice little campaign like in FH1. Its more like a sandbox where the game shits out a new car for you at every given moment but desireable cars are locked behind seasonal/weekly events and grinding. then the map gets clogged up really fast in thousands of races and other activities which you can do however you feel like. If your after a more guided experience your out of luck.
Still pretty solid games with great artstyle, tons of cars, very good driving physics, tons content etc.
But after the Forza Motorsport 2023 desaster i dont trust Microslops marketing one bit. Playground Games trackrecord is still pretty good they overtook Turn10 long ago. But i’m going to wait it out until the honeymoon phase wears off and the more critical opinions start to appear.

- Comment on Micron addresses Crucial exit backlash: 'We are trying to help consumers around the world' — company warns that DRAM drought could last until at least 2028 1 month ago:
We asked Moore about whether memory suppliers are inclined towards catering to the AI sector, leaving consumers behind, and here’s what he had to say: “Well, first I would want to try to help everybody understand that the perception may not be exactly correct, at least from our point of view. So I would never want to tell someone what to think or that they’re wrong, but our viewpoint is that we are trying to help consumers around the world. We’re just doing it through different channels. We still have a very sizable business in the client and mobile markets. We are also, of course, servicing our data center customers.
And what’s going on right now is that the TAM and data center is growing just absolutely tremendously. And we want to make sure that, as a company, we help fulfill that TAM as well.”
Thats a lot of words for just saying “Yes!”.
